Hello hello hello!

The gorgeous man in my pfp: Lee Seong Jong | Last Romeo - Infinite

Actually looking for some friends right now.
If you send me a request, I would be happy about a message, too, so I know where you find me and what made you send me a request :D

I'm 29 y/o & a total moodwatcher.

Therefore, my ratings simply reflect how much I enjoyed the overall experience rather than how objectively "good" or "bad" a drama is.

Different dramas can receive the same rating for very different reasons.

Since tastes change over time, my ratings are always just a snapshot of how I felt about a drama at the time - and I'm sure there are some I would rate differently today. :)

I watch dramas because I enjoy stories that make me feel deeply. As a total moodwatcher, the genre matters less than the kind of experience I'm looking for. Some days I want excitement, some days comfort, and sometimes I just want a story that completely consumes me emotionally.

One of the biggest factor for me is emotional investment. Once I genuinely care about the characters, every success, setback and relationship suddenly matters so much more. But a strong atmosphere, memorable visuals and a distinct sense of identity can also make a drama feel truly special to me.

Since my taste often differs from the general consensus, I wanted to share a little insight into the things that usually make a drama work for me.

Across different genres, these are the elements that help me connect with a drama

If there's any kind of relationship...

...I love watching people slowly become important to each other.

Mutual care, trust, loyalty, genuine effort and emotional attentiveness - the relationships that make me happy are usually the ones where the people involved actively shape, support and influence each other, whether they're romantic, platonic or somewhere in between.

If there's romance...

...it's the little things that catch my attention.

Lingering glances, changing body language, evolving conversations, simmering tension, yearning, flirting and sizzling chemistry - Watching two people slowly find their way into each other's lives, hearts (and beds) makes my little fangirl heart flutter and has me rewatching scenes over and over again.

If there's suspense...

...I want to feel like the story is always moving forward.

Whether it's through mysteries, psychological tension or unpredictable twists, I gravitate towards dramas that constantly make me wonder what happens next and feel excited. Noticing the little things and realizing later that they were important all along is incredibly rewarding - even if that means rewinding a scene three times. Or twenty. cough

If there's action...

...I need it to keep its momentum.

Exciting fight choreography, competent characters, engaging team dynamics (a well-written bromance is always welcome), well-balanced humour and a story that never loses its pace keep me entertained.

Characters I enjoy watching...

I have a soft spot for capable characters with personality. I’m drawn to characters who feel distinct, with their own strengths, flaws, motivations and ways of seeing the world. Whether they're physically strong, (emotionally) intelligent, highly observant or simply exceptionally good at what they do, I prefer characters who actively influence the story through their choices and aren't NPCs in their own life.

Dynamics I enjoy watching...

Passionate, chaotic and emotionally intense - messy but meaningful.

Whether it's devotion, obsession, conflict or two people who simply cannot stay away from each other. Dynamics where emotions feel impossible to ignore - where feelings are intense enough to consume the characters and shape the choices they make, even when those choices are complicated, painful or inconvenient.

The more intense the emotions, the more invested I tend to become. Jealousy, possessiveness, power struggles or morally complicated choices can all make a drama incredibly compelling when they make sense and feel authentic.

A few examples

Blue Complex & One Room Angel
Stories about suicide that somehow still feel warm, hopeful and comforting. I saw parts of myself in it.

Dangerous Drugs of Sex
A morally complicated relationship that somehow still managed to leave me with hope. Exactly the kind of emotional complexity I appreciate.

Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo
My definition of a comfort drama. Low angst, beautiful atmosphere and characters I simply loved spending time with.

Lost to You, The Director Who Buys Me Dinner & The New Employee
Peak fangirl mode. Kicking my feet, blushing, replaying scenes and refusing to stop watching.

Me and Who
A perfect example of a romance dynamic I adore. Fake dating done right, healthy communication, mutual support, great humour and two people who always choose each other.

Move to Heaven
Made me deeply care about the characters while every episode introduced another emotional story. Heartbreaking, comforting and beautiful at the same time.

The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call
Exactly how I like action dramas: exciting medical cases, fantastic cast chemistry, memorable bromance and a story that never loses momentum.

What Was All Our 8 Years For?
It hit a little too close to home. Despite its short runtime, it left a lasting emotional impact. Great soundtrack, too!

Your Name Engraved Herein
Still makes me emotional years later. Just hearing the soundtrack is enough to bring back all those feelings.
