I canāt cry, nor screamā¦ Iām in complete shock and awe. The plot & score didnt have to go this hard.
Yeah, I do agree with that, if your not someone who knows what you want as canāt differentiate between āa possibility or what I can doā then this type of series wouldnāt be all that good for younger audience. But, if done right (showing the struggle of having many differences by the year gap) it can be a good insight for some.
For me and many others gays (I hope to be right lol) age gap is just that a number, It can be a fetish for only sexual reasons, it can be a really strong attraction for older and mature people (vice versa for younger). At the end of the day most of us know the risks even the younger generation (not the ignorants). Put it this way, some donāt think about future risks in love, when we donāt get pregnant and we stick stuff where biologically we shouldnāt šš, and for those that want just some easy-going life, they wonāt torture themselfs looking for stress. The ppl tht do end up hurt by it most likely didnāt reach out or ppl around them didnāt what to help, and it is sad tbh but again, one start with themselves then u go out and explore.
Sorry if I sound harsh but based on my experience, those who know āignorance is a blissā and who ever falls for it, needs to get up and go, itās part of life, it may hurt but is not gonna be the end of someone.
But yeah I understand your POV, and itās fair and just. Me, myself, as a gay male I do not find it weird the whole trope of the age gap (obviously legal, unless is a historical thing, then it āmightā get a pass, bc Iām a sucker for realism). And I find it a bit more interesting and realistic bc of what you said, sometimes the younger one wants to feel taken care off, provided or just have someone they can rely on for more drastic things. And thatās completely normal for the human psyche, tho there are times when the older one need to rely on the younger ones way of thinking and keep up with times so they donāt get bored. I see it as a balancing factor.
Yes, if you think about the future and how would it affect them, it may be sad. But remember we ourselves choose that or any path because we want to. For you may be sad, for others may be a blessing. Iām hella open minded about anything and everything most of the time, I jus accept what is in front of me and flow with it, it may not be something I like but I can see what is worth for others, and putting myself in their choose, well that would feel incredible.

I mean itās like a tale, old as time. if we think about its the same as history itself, younger women marrying older men for status, power, comfort, etc. and some novels, soap- operas, smut lectures, have always had an age gap, can be small of big and all depends of the younger person age at the end of the day.
Can be fantasy or a fetish ? yes,
but, It can be real too, tbh the best example I can give u is one of my friends partner is almost double his age, im 26 so u can do the math.
-The Grandmother, the way she clocked Rin šš
-Rin & his Mother, ppl might say she isnāt a great mom being far away and such, bus as a mother she knew and we saw it in the little expressions Rin needed that ILY. and it made me cry a river out of nowhere.
-The plotwist of Rinās Father (I hope this the reveal bc if the mention it befor Iām so cooked š Believe me I pay attention šš)
But the only think I would say that is hurting this series is actually the story of the second coupleā¦ tbh is it was messier I think my rating wouldnāt go so low in some aspects of the series, bc it would be more realistic I think, plus thereās no need for redemption but if the first interactions were a bit more tamed I would think it wasrather well made.
But for me I think they are reaching too much, I donāt even the ppl tht like heavy Toxic relationships would say this a goo way of representing it.
Again this my Opinion, I would rate it higher but the second couple (more the representation of them and their story) is holding back the entire series. And I do judge a series as a whole.
bc the do or not like the main leads or other characters like thatās part of a whole thing not just one. Also a great example is this Korean Movie āMethodā I saw it a couple of weeks ago and my god I loved it, and even more bc I like theater a lot and method-acting is a real thing plus the complexity of it and knowing how bad it can go itās part of why I loved this movie. Plus something I saw after my review here on it, for the time that this movie came out it was a big deal in Korean culture bc it was a the beginning of them doing more queer stuff and how it reflected the actions on the movie vs reality and being close. BUT BC so many donāt understand the end or how things moved quickly or over the top they decided itās a bad queer movie.
I do it very objectively for my well being. Bc I NEVER gonna rate something less than 6. 5 is the bare minimum of doing a production and putting it out there. I try to rate it equally bc at the end the movies and series are a group thing not only the main leads, not licking a character is not something to downplay a work just think if u donāt like the character, the acting or the casting or how the present the character, if its none of those well itās a bias by observation most likely. But every single one of us have our own why to rate something.
