yeah I did have high expectations since I loved the original story/cast. But it wasn't just me - some people also preferred the original season more. The first season was more hilarious/memorable, I loved the bromance and bickering between the original cast members, while S2 re-used some of S1 jokes and was just boring for me overall. Also this feels like a spoiler for those who haven't seen it yet but I hated that the writer broke up Joon Ki & Seo Jin!

Even Eulachacha Waikiki 2 was highly disappointing for me. TKEM reminded me of The Bride of Habaek too when I first started this.

really that's interesting lol... I live in Canada, and some of us Canadian born Chinese people would've watched HK dramas in Cantonese on TV with our parents (back when we still used VHS tapes). I don't know about kids nowadays though since I always see most kids always speak English/Chinglish with their parents compared to older generations, and maybe they have less interest in HK dramas since they can watch other stuff on ipads/phones
Yeah I'm not really feeling this one, maybe I just got used to seeing SSH in other dramas with more action/angst.. and slice of life usually bores me too I only continue watching this because of the main leads
