They were testing her intelligence to see if she can be at par with others who already have more established architectural background than her. What I liked about that scene is it showcased Lu Yuxiao's english skills. Her pronounciation was good and she sounded fluent.

I dropped SOM for the same reason as you, I felt there wasn't much going on with the story no offense to those who love it. This drama is more engaging and the chemistry between the leads starts strong even with no intimate scenes yet but let's see if the rest of the episodes remain good.

I’ve always enjoyed LYX in costume dramas, but this drama really made me realize how good she is in modern roles too. I’m glad she’s been taking more modern projects lately—she’s clearly talented and always has such natural chemistry with her male co-stars. Her chemistry with CXX is already coming through strong even without any intimate scenes yet, which is impressive. I loved her pairing with HMH before, and honestly, her chemistry with CXX might be just as good or maybe even better at this point. We’ll see how it goes.

She’s honestly the only actress I can handle acting cute, because with her it actually feels natural and genuine, not forced at all.

The writer really ruined the plot, and the ending was unbearably bad. Hou Minghao and Tan Songyun honestly carried the show with their performances, even though their chemistry wasn’t strong enough for me. At best, I’d give this a 7.5.
