I didn’t feel pity for her at all and I don’t think that she is in love with him. She always knew that he…
Or in french, lol. But yeah, at this point, it's an obsession, for her. She spent years dreaming of him that she can't let go. I really think that she believes herself in love, while she is in love with the idea of him and the idea of love.

If I'm not mistaken, she will open her eyes and will meet another guy (SML) and realize that what she felt for the ML was more, as you said, a crush/obsession that she mistook for love.

After seeing her starting to cry after confessing and being rejected, I think she is in love. But a love... how could I say that in english? I think she had a kid crush on the rich kid from the city who used to come to his mother's village as a kid and who would play with her.

She developped this vision of him as superior because of his social status and therefore, he was like a prince, to her.

Does she really love the real him, though? Maybe, maybe not. I think she will open her eyes that what she felt was a child crush she never let go of and that she mistook that for love.

Im hoping this drama comes out well for Tang Min recently I have been seeing bad comments about Tang Min's 2023…
"Dear Mr Hermitage" is a rom-com where she shines. It's a feel-good, lovely drama with a normal ML and FL (as in, behaving like 20 something in love would), absolutely beautiful sceneray (shot near the Laos and Thailand border), a bit of mystery and two characters who aren't afraid of physical contact, like in many Cdramas.

The first 2 episodes are a bit... not rough but some didn't like her in those episodes but after that, she is wonderful. This drama is such a wonderful underrated gem.

I wondered the same thing: why are Fei Fei and Su shi Yu dressed in Thai attire? They then say that they identified…
Oh, thank you for your answer. As a french, I don't know much about this part of the world so when I watched that drama, I kept wondering where it was shot, it didn't look like the typical chinese landscape and when I saw the latest episode, it reminded me of some Thai documentary I had watched.

The houses and the villages were already pushing me towards the Thai hypothesis but with your answer, I have learned about the Dai ethnic people and where they live. It's a beautiful place, isn't it?

Well, things are progressing fast, they admitted loving each other, and now they are dating. But the FL is realizing that she has an idealized vision of dating and she will have to deal with that in future episodes.

I kind of pitied the SFL when she was rejected. She seems to really love the ML.

Hmmm, uncle surprised me. Not making an alliance with Mr New Villain, because as much as he hates his nephew, this is a family matter, no need to involve foreign people. Still, I wonder how long he will last with this mindset. I hope that witnessing what Mr New Villain intends to inflict on the MF and FL, he might have a change of heart?

Was this shot in Thailand or China?

LYX is from a different year? So when you enter Yumen you can actually exit to a different timeline?
Oh, good point! I thought she was from a parallel world but it's possible that the sandstorm transports both in time and in a parallel world.

I have just watched episode 12 and what a packed episode, for 30 minutes but it felt just right! Action (the fight in the bar), sadness (the FL losing the project AND her friend/colleague), romance (the uncle and the best friend? Things are starting to move towards that direction; plus the picture in the uncle's house, with his all family, nephew included).

We also learned something: the FL has family! I thought she was an orphan since in episode 2, she wrote on a ribbon at a temple about how unlucky she was, alone and with no one to rely on) and here were learn about her father being dead, her mother remarrying, a baby half-sister, and her loving her family but... I don't know, either she never really accepted her mother remarrying, or they live so far away from each other that her relationship with them isn't that strong anymore.

Great episode!

We need these type of female leads who takes control of relationship ..most Cdrama fls doesn't understand whats…
That's one of the many reasons why I love this drama. The FL takes control and also initiates physical contact. It's rare in those light rom-coms.

Ha, ha, ha, the ML had invested in, well, feminine monthly products! I burst out laughing when I heard that, this drama manages to surprise me.

The uncle, though.... grrrr. He is ready to go against the data showing that the FL's idea was the best and hire the competitor (the one who had betrayed the FL). Why? To stick it to the ML and his father? Is he that blind with anger at his nephew that he would put in peril his sister's company?

I think he's just hurting due his sister death, he needs to vent his anger on someone and that someone is his…
I think a heart attack. She was under stress because the villagers were losing money and had troubles paying the bills because the prices of coffee beans had taken a tumble. She felt responsible because before, traditionally, they were selling tea and she convinced them to swith to coffee.

Now why the ML felt responsible for his mother's death and why the uncle believes that too, I don't know.

But the tea vs coffee explains why the ML absolutely wants to bring tea back in her mother's village, the one where she grew up.

Something similar happened in wrong carriage right groom
Same, I dropped it around episode 6, I think. But many viewers loved it until the middle of the drama. We all love dramas, for various reasons, so it's always a bit of a heartbreak when one goes downhill.

So far, I'm really loving Dear Mr Hermitage. But knowing Cdramas, I remain cautious, just in case. I can deal with some boring episodes, but there are things I really hate, like bad endings, or just the drama doing a U turn and being unrecognizable (like "Crush", I think, with Wang Peng).

So fingers crossed that Mr Hermitage escapes this fate, even if there are slow paces episodes in the middle.

Really? Right now, I'm starting to wonder about how many good dramas I have missed because on MDL, they had ratings below 8.

I mean, we have an original ML who decides to quit CEO life to live a monk life like, even dressing like in the old days, and who decides to restart a tea species which is about to go extinct.

The FL is a young entrepreneur who knows what she wants (success in her business) and while meeting the ML and knowing him, starts opening to a different life style.

There are the villagers, their struggles, their funny moments and I'm getting attached to them.

There's a bit of mystery with the ML's mother. An antagonist who might become a villain or might become a good guy and have his own love interest

The main couple is behaving like a normal couple attracted to each other and not afraid of physical contact, contrary to other dramas where the FL is kissing with her eyes wide open or stiff when the ML hugs her.

Is it the best drama ever? No. But it's a feel good drama, with good actors, nice characters, nice scenary, some mystery, and it's original enough so it doesn't deserve such ratings.

Maybe the ones rating it only saw the first 2 episodes and gave it a bad ratings? kind of like "You're desire", many viewers gave it the highest ratings, only for them to regret it in the second half of the drama and hating the ending.

Does it happen oftenly that a drama goes from 8.3 to 7.9 within 3 days? It's not a bad drama, there are way worse dramas with better ratings so it's a bit weird.

Really good cdrama
So far (I have watched 8 episodes), it's a feel good drama with young adult ML and FL acting their age and not like teenagers. The FL is not afraid to initiate physical contact and the ML is not opposed to it.

Wait and see but yeah, so far, I love this drama. Knowing Cdramas, there's still a chance for the ending to be butchered, we'll see.

Question to the ones that are on the ninth episode+:Do u think that Bai Ruan & the uncle will be romantically…
It depends. For now, he seems like an antagonist that could either become full time villain or go the redemption path. If it's the latter, then I think there's a possibility for Bai Ruan and the uncle to be romantically involved.

Oh, the FL wanted to spend the night with the ML, but she kissed him first to see if she had gotten her signals right? Apparently she was, too bad the SML decided to block them.

And the ML was a playboy, according to SML? Interesting. Playboy turning monk. Not a very successful monk but still.

I wonder why the uncle thinks his nephew caused his mother's death since she died of a cardiac arrest. And why does the ML considers himself guilty??? There 's a mystery here.

About the uncle, it's like he is both angry with his nephew because he truly believe his sister is dead because of her son, but also he wants his sister's coffee business and is ready to put the blame of his sister's death on her son so that he keeps staying away as a monk, away from the business that is maybe his, not his uncle's.
