I honestly feel conflicted about the plot twist. It was going perfectly fine for me until they inserted that.

Episode 7 stands out as another beautifully done episode, one that made my heart flutter even without the overt intimacy we saw in the previous episode. What I loved most wasn’t just the wedding scene, but the quiet, deliberate way the story showed Hui Ju and Yi An growing closer, whether they realized it or not.

The episode was rich in subtle romantic details, but what lingered most was Yi An’s sense of intentionality. When he told Hui Ju he did it β€œbecause it’s you,” or when he said he would give her anything she asked for, it didn’t feel like empty reassurance. Instead of a simple promise, he chose his words carefully: β€œI fully intend to provide it.” It wasn't just "I intend" but "I fully intend". That distinction matters. That's because for him, he doesn't see himself as just someone who is obliged to do so because he is her 'husband' or 'contract partner', but more of, choosing her feels natural. It’s a love filled with intention.

It’s the kind of love Hui Ju has long searched for, something she never truly received from her father. There’s a quiet irony in that, considering how both she and Yi An share a similarly painful pasts, shaped by neglect and emotional distance. And yet, the two of them, who came together through calculated means are now slowly filling in the empty, shadowed parts of each other’s lives, one careful step at a time.

She is no longer just a junior alumnus; she is his wife. He is no longer simply a prince; he is her husband. This episode captures, with remarkable nuance, the gentle unfolding of their love just beginning to take root.

I rarely watch short dramas but this turned out to be so good. There were cliche scenes usual of short dramas, I usually couldn't stand those moments so I end up not watching but surprisingly here, the execution of such scenes were really done well. The ML isn't too overbearing, he is a natural and the FL isn't monotone, she's just as good. Their chemistry is over the edge amazing. This is one of the rare short dramas that isn't cringe and could really pass as a regular drama.

Last nights episode was one of the best so far. The royal ball might seem cliche from the previews but having watched the actual episode itself, they executed it well, most especially Yi An's proposal to Hui Ju felt so mesmerizing; they really gave off that royal couple vibe. Byeon Woo Seok looked so stunning in the prince outfit and I also really love how they styled Hui Ju in that scene, both of them were majestic.

So far, I don't feel bothered or annoyed about the supposed love triangle. The second lead doesn't seem that annoying for me as he hasn't done anything yet that fits the criteria of an annoying second male lead in my opinion. He felt more like an older brother of Hui Ju, plus I am liking how he isn't forceful about his feelings but let's see if he'd still stay the same for the remaining episodes. I think this is the first drama that I saw him in, so I must say he has this resemblance with Yang Yang (chinese actor). I couldn't help stop and stare at him and be reminded of Yang Yang - specially his eyes.

The mini escapade date on the yacht. This moment screamed peak romance for me. As a romcom lover, this was everything. I had missed this type of scenes so much. It took me a while to finish because I keep hitting the replay button. The tension in their eyes and Yi An's lines before initiating the kiss, then came the close up on Hui Ju's hands moving towards his neck. I lost it at this moment because this is what romance is about. That scene itself is so intimate and beautifully executed. I felt like I was drowning in their moment over butterflies.

Only thing I did notice about this drama is how certain scenes felt lacking. Lacking because we didn't get any more details or follow up about it. I guess maybe they deleted those scenes due to the fact that this is only a 12 episode drama which is such a shame. Other than that, I think each new episode just keeps getting better and better. Now the torture lies on the waiting game.

I think 2023 was the last time I have gotten so obsessed with a k-drama. Last year and these past few months had been a k-drama drought for me, c-dramas made me survive through. I am so glad 'Perfect Crown' turned out to be better than what I had expected. It's been one of my anticipated, and the only k-drama I waited for that truly met my expectations. I'm also loving the chemistry between IU and BWS. There's definitely cliche tropes thrown here and there but the story and their romance is unique enough to make me want to stay and continue watching.

Ep 1-2 : huiju clearly states that her reason for marrying the prince is to elevate her social status, gain power,…
Those restrictions will only apply to her temporarily when they are still married, pretty sure she knows it after all she's smart and the reason she suggested for them to divorce after.

She is very good at playing strong female characters, I loved her as Jiang Xuening in SOKP as well. You should try watching her other dramas. Would also recommend watching her older ones like Arsenal Military Academy or One and Only.

I only just started this today and I am already on episode 10. It is indeed quite silly but there's something addicting about the plot that makes me want to watch the next episode. It's also nice to see Miles Wei playing this type of character again. He owns this role.

I just picked this drama up today, the female lead is so pretty. The first episode was interesting, I missed watching dramas about unrequited love or crushes.

can someone recommend drama like this I can't find any 😭😭😭😭😭😭
here are a few which I can recommend though the cinematography differs greatly from this one since Moonlight Mystique tried to provide a different type of xianxia. If you like the FL, she excels in this genre, I recommend you to watch "Feud" and "Till the end of the Moon". Other xianxias I can recommend with different leads are "Love in the Clouds", "Love and Redemption" and "Love between fairy and devil".

I'm so sad to know that Ma and Susu broke up. They were one of the most authentic couple in this show. I wish them well in life.
