The episode was rich in subtle romantic details, but what lingered most was Yi Anβs sense of intentionality. When he told Hui Ju he did it βbecause itβs you,β or when he said he would give her anything she asked for, it didnβt feel like empty reassurance. Instead of a simple promise, he chose his words carefully: βI fully intend to provide it.β It wasn't just "I intend" but "I fully intend". That distinction matters. That's because for him, he doesn't see himself as just someone who is obliged to do so because he is her 'husband' or 'contract partner', but more of, choosing her feels natural. Itβs a love filled with intention.
Itβs the kind of love Hui Ju has long searched for, something she never truly received from her father. Thereβs a quiet irony in that, considering how both she and Yi An share a similarly painful pasts, shaped by neglect and emotional distance. And yet, the two of them, who came together through calculated means are now slowly filling in the empty, shadowed parts of each otherβs lives, one careful step at a time.
She is no longer just a junior alumnus; she is his wife. He is no longer simply a prince; he is her husband. This episode captures, with remarkable nuance, the gentle unfolding of their love just beginning to take root.
So far, I don't feel bothered or annoyed about the supposed love triangle. The second lead doesn't seem that annoying for me as he hasn't done anything yet that fits the criteria of an annoying second male lead in my opinion. He felt more like an older brother of Hui Ju, plus I am liking how he isn't forceful about his feelings but let's see if he'd still stay the same for the remaining episodes. I think this is the first drama that I saw him in, so I must say he has this resemblance with Yang Yang (chinese actor). I couldn't help stop and stare at him and be reminded of Yang Yang - specially his eyes.
The mini escapade date on the yacht. This moment screamed peak romance for me. As a romcom lover, this was everything. I had missed this type of scenes so much. It took me a while to finish because I keep hitting the replay button. The tension in their eyes and Yi An's lines before initiating the kiss, then came the close up on Hui Ju's hands moving towards his neck. I lost it at this moment because this is what romance is about. That scene itself is so intimate and beautifully executed. I felt like I was drowning in their moment over butterflies.
Only thing I did notice about this drama is how certain scenes felt lacking. Lacking because we didn't get any more details or follow up about it. I guess maybe they deleted those scenes due to the fact that this is only a 12 episode drama which is such a shame. Other than that, I think each new episode just keeps getting better and better. Now the torture lies on the waiting game.
