novel material.
The SA scenes and mental abuse scenes you referred to might have come off too much but these things didn't happen in the same timeline, so I think it is necessary for them to add these scenes in order to give the audience depth and background of how much horrible experiences the FL actually has gone through.... so us viewers could get a grasps of her character and understand her, since drama episodes are limited and it is not possible to completely adapt everything from the novel as precisely and accurately as they want to.

Title The First Frost Spoiler
In the previous episodes we had been shown how Wen Yi Fan constantly regrets going to Yi He and breaking the promise she made with Sang Yan. She felt so sad knowing how much he has been hurt back then, that even in her drunk state she apologized to him, in her heart hurting him is the last thing she would ever want to do. I couldn't help myself but feel a lot for her because she didn't deserve those horrible things that happened to her, yet she blames herself for hurting the one she loves. I never considered Wen Yi Fan's 'running away' from Nanwu in the past as an act of cowardliness or weakness, especially for someone like her who has been completely abandoned by her own family and had no one to run to; there might be Sang Yan but there isn't much he could do either as they were still both young back then. Her life circumstances never gave her any option to choose from, leaving Nanwu became her last resort to cling onto life no matter how much she disliked it. Life is full of complexities and most of the time not everyone can afford to have many choices. What Wen Yi Fan did back then should never be considered a mistake or weakness, she should never have to apologize and bear blame for simply trying to survive as none of the bad and horrible experiences she has been through was ever her fault to begin with.

Wen Yi Fan has always been resilient and brave in my eyes, but seeing her confronting them showed how she had grown stronger over the years and is ready to now fight back not only for herself but even her loved one, Sang Yan. Her mother is lucky to have a daughter like her who still treated her with kindness despite everything she has done. Yet her mother still remains very selfish, the worst thing a mother could ever do is abandon her own biological daughter and still have the audacity and energy to care for another child who isn't even her own. She certainly knows that garbage guy is horrible, seeing how she scolds her stepdaughter for not wearing her clothes properly, at the same time she willingly and consciously stays ignorant over the terrible things that happened to Wen Yi Fan. She doesn't deserve any redemption arc and deserves to rot in hell with the garbage guy and his garbage sister. Wen Yi Fan truly deserves a better family.

I cried a lot during the scene when Yi Fan started to sleepwalk again and Sang Yan asked her if she was afraid and comforted her by telling her how she could come and find him directly. My heart ached even more the moment she held onto Sang Yan's hand so tightly never wanting to let it go while tears escaped her eyes. She must have been in a dark place again and Sang Yan being there at that moment became her light - her sun. I could only imagine how afraid and in pain Yi Fan felt every night through all those years without Sang Yan by her side but now we could see how she feels so safe, warm and the only one who doesn't trigger her traumas whenever he is around her, this is surely the reason why in both her drunk and sleep walking state she always naturally gravitate towards Sang Yan. Moreover, Sang Yan being affectionate to Yi Fan and not leaving her alone to cry on her own and how by the moment they woke up, even if he notices Yi Fan isn't in a good state, he tries to brighten her up. He literally remembers the smallest details about her, the way he complimented the food she cooked for him as she likes to hear compliments about it. He tries but it's evident how he worries so much about her.

Their love for each other is so deep and selfless. I would not question whatever happens to them next because of how their love has been built and constantly shown, it definitely isn't fragile.

Remember when Sang Yan went to Yifan's father's grave and asked if she had been happy all these years? It was…
having this thought and just know his heart will ultimately shatter more when he learns about the uncle.

Episode 22 has been full of nothing but chaotic adorable drunk scenes of our favorite couple but I can't help love it so much because I have never seen a drama couple romance over such scenes like they did 😭🩡

This kind of drama can only be written by a female, I have yet to see such a man like the ML in real life πŸ˜‚
men written by females will always be toptier but it's a shame because they will also always remain fictional, we are left to dream and imagine 🀭

Sang Yan kept his word about introducing Yi Fan in a formal setting, he really introduced her as his girlfriend at a wedding venue. Qian Fei's wedding brought a lot of blessings that night for the Sang siblings he deserves credit for it 🀭. Sang Yan does indeed deserved to be boasted about. Yi Fan confidently acknowledged how she chased him in front of all his friends. I know she appreciates him just as much as he does, but seeing her do it publicly and how Sang Yan was all over the moon happy about it with that huge smile plastered on his face was so satisfying to see.

Drunk Wen Yi Fan was so chaotic but definitely memorable. Her suppressed feelings and thoughts just came out of her on their own, it was cute and funny to see this side of her and how this time we are witnessing how more carefree she is because she knows her safe place no other than Sang Yan is with her. The way she just naturally gravitates towards Sang Yan even in her sleep. Also, I really appreciate it whenever Sang Yan selflessly goes an extra mile for her...like he doesn't give her the bare minimum and he just naturally have so much respect for her. He adores her so much and it's evident on how lovingly he stares at her during her drunk scenarios. Him removing her make up for her and the cuddle in the morning as soon as they woke up, how he snuggled his face to her gently, so heart fluttering.

Wen Yi Fan's opportunity is Sang Yan. It's so nice to see her healing through every episode, how the dullness she used to carry around her has now been slowly fading and we get to see so much of her brighter side. Although she still has a lot more to face, I think this time she has become even more stronger than ever.

He was dating (or still?) Song Yi. Dunno if they're still together because some people said they have broken up…
yes they had break-up rumors last year so no one really knows right now if they are still together or not, but its best to leave it as their private matter.

My heart melted so much, episode 21 is a definite treat for the heart and soul ✨

We finally got the 'kitchen kiss' which has been one of the most anticipated scenes and it did not disappoint at all. The execution of both the kisses they had was done in a new way that gave off a refreshing vibe, I appreciate the dreamy-like quality of the cinematography during those moments - they elevated the atmosphere of that scene, and the OST choice couldn't have been any better as it matched the episode's title 'hope is everywhere with you in the future' ; the lyrics of the song talks about having hope and courage too. Bai Jing Ting is no doubt a great kisser and Zhang Ruo Nan didn't disappoint, their chemistry was overflowing.

I love how Wen Yi Fan had spoken her mind out about wanting to kiss Sang Yan then quickly initiated it although it turned into a peck - her innocence is endearing. She showed how she yearns to get close to him just as much as he does. Then when they started kissing intimately we could see even more clearly how their deep yearning for each other after all those years of being apart gradually turned into passion. My heart skipped a bit more when they break for a moment and Sang Yan in his deep low voice says "I am hooked", it confirmed further how much of his feelings he had held back for years had finally met a satisfying conclusion in that moment. I really loved seeing how their intimacy slowly grew and reached to a point they are becoming more comfortable about it, but at the same time what I appreciated even more is how they stayed consistent by showing hints of shyness and awkwardness in certain moments making it all not only realistic but just how much impact they truly have on each other. They are both so adorable in this episode and I couldn't get enough of their sweet and intimate scenes.

As if their previous scenes from this episode alone weren't romantic enough, the last scene where they exchanged valentines gift for each other is just so beautiful. The gifts they gave for one another was so well thought of and meaningful. The scene when Wen Yi Fan was putting the bracelet on Sang Yan and Sang Yan caresses her face with his fingers while smiling at her so dearly - in that moment they were so deeply and madly in love.

Wen Yi Fan from earlier episodes before had shown us a glimpse of her regret about attending Yi He university, she used to wonder about the old her and how her life would have been if she went to Nanwu with him. We were once again shown in this episode about her regret and it certainly has to do with Sang Yan. She had always wanted to be with Sang Yan even then. However, regrets don't always mean it's too late. What happened to her wasn't her fault but what I admire about her character especially what has been depicted about her in this episode is how she tries to make up for her past regrets not because she wants to repay Sang Yan for the love he has given her but because again she thinks he is special and deserves the best.

"If I could, I would want to participate in every moment of his life and accompany him through every emotion. In every moment he is sad, I would be by his side..." - Wen Yi Fan

Just as much as I admired Sang Yan's love for Wen Yi Fan, I admire Wen Yi Fan's love for Sang Yan too. They deserve each other.
