Honest question here...i LOVED this drama 2/3rds of the way. I have watched hundreds of dramas. Kdramas, C dramas, T dramas. But I took a break because I don't understand why Cdramas so often can't seem to end properly. I tried again with this because it started SO promisingly. I LOVE our main couple. I love the friendships. I loved all their interactions, quality conversations. I loved the pacing of their friendship to love. I loved the teachers and students. SO many amazing things about this made me hopeful. So please someone...why the rushed endings? If it was just this drama I would be mad about this drama. But it feels like soooo many of the C-dramas I've watched can't land the plane. WHY? Why the not resolving situations? Are time slips their way of not really resolving this? WHY? is it because of cencorship? Switching out of writeres? Pressure from somewhere? It cannnnnnnoooot be because of artistic choices. This drama was written SOOOOO well. until the last few episodes. But then the end... please someone help a girl understand. the writers or SOMEONE did the whole drama dirty by ending what could have been an amazing drama and smooshing everything into one or two episodes.
I hope he does at least one more rom-com. It's my happy place. I don't like getting scared and watching gorey things. I want to watch something that puts a smile on my face. So do at least one more rom-com, BWS!
Still missing them. Wish I could erase the whole drama and watch it for the first time again. That feeling of not knowing if it would be a happy ending. Not knowing how it all would work out. Not knowing if the directors would drop the ball and have the thing slow down towards the end...Not knowing if they would give us more sweet moments... getting to read and chat with other fans. Those were such fun and special moments the last few weeks. A great way to escape little bits of reality. :). I think whenever a drama gets really popular, the expectations rise and then little can stand up to that. So I'm not surprised that some people are now showing up saying they don't like it. Part of the joy was the surprise and the discovery that what started so sweet and unassuming turned into this whole wonderful experience. This drama was so special because I feel like we all went in, hopeful it would be good, and it caught our attention, and just kept delivering. And it was like eating candy. just. SOOOO enjoyable. And I feel like I discovered new friends with Im Sol, Sun Jae, Baek In Huk and Kim Tae Sung. :)
It's understandable that spot light shines more on BWS since vast audience of Rom Coms are female, swooning over…
KHY did an amazing job. It 's true though, majority of rom-com watchers are female and so they will swoon over the male leads. I hope for the best for KHY though. She's a gem.
It depends on your personal preference TBH. I personally loved all 3 dramas. We can't really compare Moving with…
I've watched all 3 of these and have watched probably over 200+ dramas in the last 20 years, Korean and Chinese. Moving was really special. I cried, I laughed; it was amazing action and emotion and psychology and even made some good and very worthwhile social commentary...but it's a very different kind of show. Much more intense. I LOVED moving, but I will not be spending weeks, re-watching favorite moments and scenes.
I also absolutely adored Twinkling Watermelon. There was such a pure joy in that too. I however, did not find myself wanting to spend hours pouring over news, little edits and MDL posts each week reading everything I could about them. I did not find myself re-watching scene after scene in quite the same way. I also did not attach myself to a particular couple the same way as I did with SeonJae and Im Sol. So I think some of which one you will think is more of a masterpiece will depend on who you connect with. Like I actually miss them now that the drama is done. Like I have to make new friends now.
But do watch those other two, they are worth watching for sure.
I'm watching that right now, and though it's not the same as this, there is a charm and enjoyment in it too. LR will always be pretty special though. It's like we spent time watching good friends of our fall in love and we fell in love with them. This drama made us all so happy. And with so many sad things in this world, it's nice to have something that brings warmth and joy and laughter.
