Many people have their own take on the ending. And the conclusion and overall interpretation I got was that like any classic soulmate trope (Hanahaki disease, tattoos, birthmarks, seeing through each other’s eyes, etc…) Mr. Bai and LuDuo were soulmates and found each other through the time loop.
If you want to get even more hopeless romantic 🥰, some say one may live their life never locating their soulmate, and Mr. Bai and LuDuo were fortunate to be given that chance of finding each other. If they hadn’t found each other Mr. Bai would’ve been forever alone due to his obnoxious and Mr-Know-It-All ways, and LuDuo would’ve been with HuoHuo and still having problems with really stating how she feels. HuoHuo would’ve been a pushy significant other in both universes, and she’d never truly grow from that relationship. LuDuo and Mr. Bai saved each other.
Interesting idea but the execution did not meet my expectations. And I did not get what was the point of a painfully…
I understand how the kiss was awkward. To be honest, it reminded me of the first kiss between the main leads/pair in that old Disney Channel sitcom titled “Austin & Ally”. So, it was like a Disney kiss 😂
Yet, the drama in general is so quirky, and Mr. Bai had never been in a relationship. So….it’s definitely looking for a polarized reception. Even though, seeing the flashback of the kiss over and over again, it started to look…”more real.”
The pacing in this drama is very slow. Everything happened in the first 5 episodes could be told in 1 episode.…
I’ll say this: I believe one can get done with this show in one sitting. Despite the slow start, the FL was steadfast in her growing attraction to the ML. Because of the FL’s nature and the ML’s search for the truth (while maintaining his morale) that’s what kept me watching and getting past those slow parts. Sure, one could skip episodes, but you miss certain parts in the growing relationship of FL and ML that are important and that make you root for them.
im at dt exact point - how long does this theme drag - the issues are so non-sensical - did he lose his intelligence!!
Yeah. When you say “intelligence” I think you mean his dignity. I started to prefer it when he was meaner at the beginning, but I realize now that that arc made Luduo fall for him more and made her grow more.
I got to ep 15 and it seem to lose some appeal with the delivery guy story arc, does it get back better soon?…
Yeah. That arc frustrated me, yet, towards the end you start to see why it was important (the emotional roller coaster paid off(?)).
I believe the overall point of the story arc was to have it serve as a catalyst in Mr. Bai’s character growth, even though I can’t get over that scene when he falls on his face in the water puddle. That store manager was pathetic.
I know what you mean about the second ML (HuoHuo) being more likable, but his actions start to get a little jarring and unnecessary towards the end. The whole point at the beginning was for the 1st ML (Mr. Bai) to not be liked.
i was enjoying- found it funny - but then they started these non-sensical issues that just dragged - idk if he…
I don’t think Mr. Bai (ML) lost his intelligence. What he needed to and started to realize (especially towards the end) is that in order to see the big picture he had to take a step back, assess, and look at the small details a lot more in order to know what to do in the final time loop where Luduo (FL) doesn’t remember anything. Luduo’s growth would’ve never happened, nor his.
I do feel this is pretty underrated but you need to be in the right mood and have patience to watch. The plot…
While watching, the protagonist did mention he was older than her…but probably not by much. So, I can understand where you’re coming from. And I liked both leads. ML was attractive in a very understated way.
This movie was a pleasant surprise. But it wasn’t pleasant in a feel-good way. It’s actually quite sad, but not unbearable. The ending is rather odd but understandable; good in its own way. I recommend. Soundtrack/score is amazing.
He looks so much like Hong Kong actor Leon Lai. Everytime I bring Shosuke up to my sister, I say, “Yeah, it was Leon Lai’s brother who acted in it.” 😅 Anywho, I liked him in Lovely Complex and the Judgment video game.
A great blog post that is a great guide to what to expect each episode and their (characters) awesome moments - from lead pair to other characters. (Link below)

So, Carl Jung the philosopher would call this her shadow.
So, yes.
Also, a pair of co-workers (FeiFei and Steve) have major ship energy so, yeah. There are side couples.
And you’re so right. OST on repeat, and searching daily for AMA edits and BTS vids on YouTube 🥲
