And that's fine, it's all subjective opinion anyway, the fact I like the Thai version better and a lot folks do,…
I did notice that Thai remakes are much grittier.
But I enjoyed Leng and Juniorâs (Cheon-sang and In-rang in K-Version) characters more in this version if not the same. I feel as though they had a lot more to do. Their humor and bond gave a whole ânother vibe that makes it a contrast to K-version.
(BTW: I like the Star Wars and Star Trek analogy. Accurate way to put it).
Thai version is better. Hands down. I went back and forth watching both (After an episode of one version Iâd watch the episode of the other). I didnât think the FLâs acting was horrible. Before coming on MDL I didnât think anything of it.
The Thai version was the one that made me laugh and truly root for the main leads. I also enjoyed the character design and their outfits. Many gripe about Jeenâs red dress, but I understand the choice because it fit her character. I liked Offâs âgothâ look, the uncleâs hair style, and Leng and Juniors ânerdâ garb.
Also, I like the ending better.
And⊠I felt like the duo (Leng and Junior) had more of a part and could hold their own; no need to rely on Jeen and Off to protect them. They grew just as much as Jeen and Off. I also liked in this version how it felt like Jeen and Off enjoyed and appreciated the duoâs company.
And⊠I also feel as though the overall story adaptation was made for Thailand (as though their version was the OG and made for it).
Edit: I wonder who would want to make another adaptation. I think Japan could pull it off, but the storyline wouldnât be able to be condensed into ten episodes. China would probably do a decent job with the college/university setting, but thereâs a lot of censorship, so the story idea itself probably wouldnât pass the test. TaiwanâŠhmmâŠIâm not even sure thatâs a possibility. Theyâre (Taiwanese dramas) almost rare to an extent, and they donât do horror/ghost genres that much. So, maybe next option, anime adaptation?
Edit: Taiwan can do an adaptation. âOh no! Here comes troubleâ supports this.
It is worth watching. I think Chinese dramas in general are not rated as highly as Korean dramas in general. There…
Iâll definitely refer to this when Iâm deciding my next watch. Iâve seen a romcom (24 episode) and historical (?) which has 48 episodes. I want to stick with romcom a bit more.
Also, I like what you said about Taiwan. My first drama was âThe Prince Who Turns into a Frog.â Despite there being a lot of elements that would make in an âidol dramaâ, you wouldnât have guessed everyone came from the same singing group or something akin to that. So, the talent is truly there.
i was enjoying- found it funny - but then they started these non-sensical issues that just dragged - idk if he…
Oh, yeah! I see what youâre getting at a lot better now. It couldâve been all cleared and solved with a simple convo đ. I felt like that wouldâve been fairer.

I get what you mean. Couldnât have said it better myself. đ Yet, I do find that despite how bright Taiwanese dramas may appear on the outside there are dark undertones in the overall plot when it is being played out on screen.
I thought he kinda looked like Big Bangâs Seungri in Love in a Loop. I donât mean this in a controversial way. Letâs just imagine Iâm talking about pre-controversy Seungri.
Anywho, I enjoyed him in Love in a Loop! Itâs like he was made to play the part of Mr. Bai.
My final verdict is that this show is quirky and its own genre đ. You have to watch this show with an open mind. So what if it doesnât make sense at times⊠Did it have a happy ending? Yes. Did the leads have chemistry? Yes. Did we get two kiss scenes? Yes. Was there proclamations of love? Yes. Did the characters grow? Yes. Did you waste hours of your life youâll never get back? No.
So, itâs a good show if youâre looking for something fresh and different.
To be honest the story telling kind of reminded me of classic Hong Kong Cantonese-language movies. It was comedic, then out-right serious, funny again, then romantic, serious/thriller-like, funny, and then melodramaticâŠan overall roller coaster. Itâs kind of like if that Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng movie âNeeding youâŠâ had a time loop incorporated into it.
This story had heart! â€ïž It stuck to its plot. I loved it. Iâll rewatch in the future. I strongly recommend.

I agree. I believe itâs just failing to realize that CDRAMAS arenât KDRAMAS, and that they do things different in CDRAMAS. If you donât realize that, youâre setting yourself up for major dissatisfaction. 24 episodes in CDRAMAS is the 16 episodes in KDRAMASâif weâre wanting to start the comparison game. đ

Also, I thought she looked like Korean actress Song Hye-ko.

(Secret: He kinda reminded me of Monsta Xâs Im Changkyun a.k.a I.M) đ„°
