Actually, he did interact with her directly. In episode 4, Jiugao comes to ask for tea. Lanxiang thinks they should wait since they're not supposed to serve the masters but Ji'er goes since she hopes to catch his attention. She returns with silver he rewarded her and shows it to Lanxiang, telling her that Lin Jinqi asked about his wife's actions.

This again shows the asymmetry of the relationship between masters and servants. For Lin Jinqi, she was just another maid he was using for information to investigate his wife's actions. But for Ji'er it was a significant event that brought both hope (he rewarded her, complimented her, and might value her in the future) and danger (being on Zhao Xingtang's radar and later being framed and sold).

Of course Ji'er would remember their interaction clearly and hoped he'd remember her as well, but he completely forgot about her.

They mentioned that xiu lai is already married in one of the previous episodes, I don't think we've seen her on screen yet. xiu lai is first miss, xiuwan is second, xiuru is third and xiushu fourth.

I agree, she's not timid, she's cautious. She's thoughtful and very aware of the possible dangers, but when it's time to act she isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to save herself and her people.

Shout out to Liu Xingchen as Ah Jin. Such a good performance.

Abnormal? The Chinese government has always controlled the content of media produced there. It's quite normal. They approve the scripts, require shows to pass censorship, blacklist specific tropes, actors, or storylines as they will. This current move is perfectly in line with everything else they do.
You can find it appalling, but it's honestly a bit ridiculous to draw the line at the government interfering with makeup standards and not any other things they do. If you choose to watch dramas produced in China, this is what comes with the territory.

Such a good drama. I had no idea Macau had a fascinating history. The way the story managed to be inspired by real people to create a fictionalized account was great, and the portrayals of the actors were really good across the board.

season 2 is a sequel that happens a few decades after the first season, I enjoyed both but you can definitely watch just the original first season as it's a complete story (and a very satisfying and great story)

I really liked this drama, but I found the final two episodes were not as good as the rest of the drama. I did like Hae-in 'stalking' Hyun-woo, but her complete amnesia combined with Eun-sung's plan was over the top, in my opinion.
If instead Hae-in woke up with Hyun-woo at her side and was willing to trust him and like him, but grew hesitant due to the divorce and other memories she had out of context, it could have been a powerful sequence of them rebuilding their relationship and trust in each other. Her remembering the miscarriage was a poignant moment, but it wasn't given enough emphasis, in my opinion. This was a major factor in what broke their marriage, and they hardly discuss it.
Also the the scene at court was cliche and not at all like court cases really work (which is kind of lampshaded by the lawyer objecting that the evidence wasn't submitted - what if the judge wouldn't have agreed to accept it?)
In the end of the day Hae-in and Hyun-woo have here a really powerful love story, and I adored Soo-cheol and Da-hye's growth as characters. I even liked Eun-sung's villainous motivations. I just think the ending of the drama was a bit messy and could have been much stronger.

I feel a little bad for his gf. Yes, she's catty, but minwoo is the real problem. Why is he getting with her if he's in love with Hari??

He has such cowardly and opportunistic behavior. He thinks Hari is beneath him, so he doesn't get together with her, but he keeps getting together and breaking up with Yoora so he can string along both women. Then after he once more got together with his gf he acts jealous of Hari having a bf? He speaks so fondly of Hari on TV making it absolutely transparent he has feelings for her? He feels entitled to look at documents in Hari's drawer and demand explanations for her relationship?

Yoora is an idiot for not breaking up with Minwoo, and she is haughty towards Hari. But she's also the person suffering most from minwoo's wishy washy behavior.

I didn't read the webtoon so maybe the kiss works there, but I'm glad they didn't kiss here in the drama. Drunk kisses are just no romantic, imo. Kissing out of impaired judgement and having a vague memory of it doesn't make the kiss meaningful, and it's a little gross when one person who isn't drunk kisses a drunk person.

Tae moo and Ha ri already had their accidental fall kiss. Hopefully next time they kiss it will be a fully intentional and romantic moment.

I'm watching this now and really enjoying it. It has a great ensemble of characters and tells realistic, grounded stories about the doctors, nurses, and patients they treat. It deals with everything from how the pressure of their jobs affects their personal lives, ethical dilemmas they encounter, hospital politics, professional choices, but despite all this subject material it doesn't feel heavy or depressing. There is also humour, a dash of romance, and great moments of friendship. Each character has his or her struggles, and it's really nice when they open up to others and get support.
So far I'm up to episode 13, and recommend it to anyone who likes medical dramas, or stories with friendship and warmth.
