Maxky + Jeng: Best part of the show.
I love Maxky’s comedy. His comedic timing is probably one of the few things that consistently worked in this show. And honestly, Maxky and Jeng carried this...almost disaster. Their friendship felt effortless, and their personalities complemented each other so well.
The secondary couple, I only have three words: "What was that" because besides that I either have no words or a 3-page essay.
The main romance, though… yeah, this is where it lost me. It felt way too forced, especially considering how much chemistry and tension had already been established between them in their previous show. I kept waiting for that same spark to come back, but it just wasn’t there. At times, the romance was cute, but even that came down to Maxky’s comedic timing and his and Bas’s ability to sell a moment through the smallest micro-expressions. The writing genuinely did them dirty.
I spent half the time waiting for the plot to arrive and the other half watching Maxky and Jeng make the show more entertaining than the actual storyline.
And for a series supposedly centered around professional esports players, they barely practiced "professionally". Like… at all. Occasionally they would play on their phone, but where was the actual training? with actual equipment? the dedicated practice time?....
The frustrating part is that there was clearly potential here. The cast could deliver it. The characters could have been interesting. The premise could have worked. But the writing, direction and production just… didn’t give them enough to work with.
