It's not just the "physical distance". Baek Yi Jin as a person has become distance, Na Hee Do is unable to reach him anymore. As she said, "my support doesn't reach him anymore." His job as a reporter and his sensitivity unfortunately broke him. And with Na Hee Do's mother also being unavailable to her all through her childhood, it isn't fair for her to have a significant other who will be put in the same position as well. It's really unfair. Really heartbreaking.
The last five minutes of Ep 15 is the most heartbreaking sequence I've ever seen in a drama. The countdown, the flashbacks, "Goodbye Grief" playing in the background with the volume increasing every second. Emotions ran high. God, tragically beautiful.
