A must watch!

Loved, loved this show.
Binged it, and absolutely do not regret it. It was funny, emotinal and also suprisingly educative. I always knew pregnancy wasn't exactly a bed of roses, but never really knew the complexities involved. This was an eye-opener for me. Might seem a bit too much to say this, but watching this drama makes me feel like I would be able to make better informed decisions regarding my own pregnancy when I choose to have a kid later on in life.
A very fun, emotional show with great friendships, do watch!

Fantastic First Half, Draggy Second Half

The headline pretty much sums it up.
I loved the overall concept. The first half of the season kept me SO HOOKED. Like I just wanted to binge and binge and binge. Every episode ended with a cliffhanger, nothing was making sense but also making sense, we just HAD to know what happens next. This, paired with the perfect OST at the end was just SO memorable, definitely A+.
But they couldn't retain this hype throughout the second half which was very, very disappointing.
One thing I loved about the show the most was Eun Dan-o's exaggerated reactions to all the cringe scenes. But that just seemed to stop towards the end. Like, she didn't react to stuff. That kinda made it a bit boring for me.
And I felt like a lot of the mysteries could have been solved sooner? Like, we could cut short 2 episodes.
One more thing was I didn't feel very much emotionally attached to any of the characters. Like, I didn't cry when I saw they were in pain, I didn't feel it. Mind you, all the pain comes in the second half only; when they realise their fate and what is the price they have to pay if they change it.
The first half was extremely funny, engaging and I truly had the butterflies anytime something happened. But during the second half, except for that star scene, I couldn't feel anything.
Gyeong's character was written pathetivcally tbh. They could have shown that he was a good person a bit earlier, because otherwise it just seems like he's doing everything out of vengeance and not true love. So even though I understand the whole concept and why they made Gyeong the way he is, it was kinda disappointing.
Ha Ru was perfect tbh. Eun Dan O perfect. Honestly, individually all of them had great characters, especially the "extras", Sae Mi and all. Beautiful. 👏🏻
Whereas the first half of the show is a perfect binge watch, the second half would be something that is more enjoyable on air. I say so because the second half seems kinda draggy as it features the same concept thingy on a loop tbh, but people who watched it on air would have definitely enjoyed it as they would have come in without much retention of the previous episode.

TL:DR; Overall : a one time watch.
OST on loop.
Certain scenes will always be replayed on YouTube.
A bit draggy towards the end, not so much for a non-binge watcher.
Amazing concept, great execution. A bit of a let-down towards the end. Nevertheless, a great one-time watch drama!

7/10

A good drama, but only if it's your cup of tea

A lot of people seem to hate this drama, but I'm here to give a very neutral opinion of it. I neither LOVED it, nor HATED it.
I feel like this drama will really appeal to some, and others might not like it at all. It's basically all about your preferences.
What I liked about this drama? The characters from Korean folk tales. As a person interested and fascinated by the Korean culture and folklore, this was a treat for sure! Various mythical characters were lifted right off the folk tales and these stories were spun around to suit the story in a modern setting and incorporated beautifully in the plot. I also loved the cinematography, the food shots, the friendship between the different characters. Loved the relationship dynamics between the side characters, and the relationship shared by them with the main character. And Lee Rang, Sin Ju. That sweet baby. Aah, basically all the characters.
What I wasn't a fan of all that much? I personally felt like the main leads could have made better choices, that could have prevented a lot of trouble from happening, but hey. There will be no drama without that I guess. Also, certain sub-plots were under explained, like what happened to Ji Ah's parents in the end? The mystery of the island was not really fully, properly explained. How did the Imoogi get all those people to come there at the same time?
All in all, an enjoyable watch. I kinda felt like it was a bit draggy in the middle, but episode 15 and 16 were a total rollercoaster. They did end with a bang!
Would recommend watching this drama if you're interested in fantasy and folklore. If you're looking for too much logic and less sap, this is not for you.

Well-thought out and well-structured, enjoyable show.

Absolutely loved this show.
The OST especially, is played at all the right moments, it's absolutely perfect!
I know it has it's flaws, but the way the entire story is actually thought-out is simply amazing. The reveals, the court proceedings, the way the cases and their verdicts actually influence and build up the final moments, flawless!
Absolutely loved this show and learnt so much about law in general. If you want a serious show, that is not TOO serious, and has a really well-thought out, structured and intriguing plot : this one's for you!
Go for it. :)
Happy watching~~

Frustrating at times, beautiful at times.

It was such a frustrating watch for me.
I did love the format, and the other two couples made this a worthwhile watch. I felt that all the problems of the lead couple were downright nonsensical, but they did make sense towards the end to an extent. I just wish instead of dragging it that long, they sped things up. It was SO SO frustrating to watch. And the back-and-forth between the main leads made no sense whatsoever to me.
If it hadn't beed for the amazing chemistry, it would have been a 3 star for me. The romance aspect, the mature way in which they showcased relationships was a huge plus for me. And the cinematography is top notch. Loved that!
Made me cry at times, it was kinda relatable sometimes.
Overall, a good one time watch, if you have some patience.

A must-watch heartwarming comedy!

Where do I begin? I wanted to watch this drama ever since it was announced as I was intrigued by the blurb. It was so fresh and interesting! A comedy of errors, it seemed to me, and oh boy it was just that. Refreshing and amazing watch!
Everything was so perfect. The music? Oh yes. The Kkondae Latte song had me grooving like an ajhumma in the club with those stiff dance moves, didn't know I had it in me hahaha.
The acting? Perfect is all I can see. Especially our Kkondae orushin, he's too perfect. All his facial expressions are so top-notch, I just want to imitate him all the time. I end up looking like a clown though, but he is just perfect. Even the expressions of the President aka the Chairman's son are top-notch hahaha.
You will love everyone in this show. Perfect mix of comedy and emotions. I love how it shows that both the older and the younger generation are great in their own ways. Instead of critisizing one another, if we team up, learn from one another and understand each other, there is lots of achieve and lots of fun to have!
Perfect premise, perfect comedy and emotions, perfect acting and perfect music. What else can one want?
Go stream it on Netflix right away! :)

A Must Watch 2020 drama.

The plot was so unpredictable. Up until a certain point, I really couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Some of the twists were SO unexpected, it gave me literal goosebumps. I watched it with my sister, and we had so much fun trying to guess what was happening and what to expect next, and with all the twists being thrown at us, getting all excited!
A very fun watch, especially if you like to play detective. This drama is very complicated, you actually need to pay attention, and it leaves a lot of questions unanswered till it is absolutely necessary to reveal it. It honestly keeps the fun going.
Please do watch it with loved one, and get guessing! It's very fun.
My one takeaway from this drama would be that our fate is just a result of our own choices sometimes.
Happy watching!
