After watching the last episode i can now say that i feel like i’m finally seeing the gears turning in Zhitao’s head. First, i’m gonna see how i see this from her pov. She is happy with Luan Nian and likes his attentive side and is thankful to him for being a proper boss, scolding her when it’s needed and leading her to be better. However i feel like for her this relationship is like pulling a never ending rope. It feels like ever time you tug you can see the end and at the same time it never comes. I think Zhitao feels the same with Luan Nian. Just as their relationship seems to progress and change for the better, some obstacle comes out of nowhere and their progress goes back to zero. As for Luan Nian, i think his biggest problem is his pride. He is so prideful that Zhitao is afraid to tell him some things, because she doesn’t know how he’ll react and she’s scared that might worsen their situation. I think Luan Nian truly cares for Zhitao, and we have plenty of evidence for that, but he is being careful with their relationship status (with his parents) because he isn’t sure whether Zhitao wants more people to know. That is her problem. She isn’t telling him anything, and at this point in their relationship (3 years now i think) she should feel secure and comfortable enough to tell others they’re together. But she doesn’t. That’s because they don’t communicate. Luan Nian has no problem (from what we can see) to tell others they’re a couple, but Zhitao somehow still feels insecure about it. I’d say their biggest problems are: mutual communication, Luan Nian’s pride and Zhitao’s prejudices. Props to the person in the comments that compared their relationship to Jane Austen’s „Pride and prejudice”🤗🤗Also sorry for the long comment 🫣

At this point i’m not sure, because in the last ep Zhitao said it’s her 3rd year in Beijing meaning it’s 2014, then they welcomed the new year so currently it’s supposed to be 2015. I might be wrong, but she came to Beijing in 2011 so i think it is 2015 in ep 15.

I think their theme song should be „Only love can hurt like this” by Paloma Faith😭 I’ve made myself a playlist with songs that remind me of them and this song is by far the one that most accurately describes their relationship…

She isn’t commitment-phobic but scared of public opinion. She was just a fresh graduate when they started dating and wanted to get recognition for her skills, not judgement because she’s dating her boss. If i was in her place and fell in love with my boss i also wouldn’t want to expose our relationship…People are often cruel and quick to judge, don’t forget that. It wouldn’t have no impact on Luan Nian, but it most likely would on Zhitao.

That’s true, they’re both just bad at communicating, but Luan Nian just says harsh things. He is mixing up their employee-employer relationship with their romantic one, which led to him speaking harsher than he should. He wanted to give her advice as a boss, but he was alao disaappointed as her partner.

Omg this is getting more and more entertaining 🤩 It feels like we’re walking towards a cliff, and with each episode we’re getting closer to the edge. I really want to see Luan Nian in shambles after Zhitao actually leaves. Right now he’s speaking so harshly to her, because he’s full of himself and feels like she won’t leave him even if he is mean. The ending of ep 13 is making me think that in the next two episodes we’ll see their breakup 🙂‍↔️
