Anyone who knows other cdramas filmed as beautifully as pursuit of jade? I feel like many cdramas appear flat and muted, and so pursuit of jade really captured me with it's aesthetics and beautiful cinematography. Im looking for something similar )-:
I have a question before starting if anyone can help. I like strong and intelligent FL’s but I disliked ‘The…
Not at all. The ML lead is very strong and intelligent which are qualities a marquis obviously should posses. He do suffer injuries which makes him physically weak, but overall he is far from that!
So I started this with no prior knowledge about anything at all. It was cute at first. I love chinese university romances and this was exactly that, loved every second of it. Obviously I could sense that it was gonna be heart breaking, but I was prepared. Until it got weird with Cheng Yichen being tied to the hospital bed? So I finally decided to watch to the trailer after being 8 episodes in...I am completely appalled, frightened and my jaw is on the ground. It is a complete 360 from what I had in mind or had expected. Kidnapping, rape, assault etc. I will continue watching, but oh my god I had no idea what i was tuning in to...
This was so beautiful. Despite not having any intimate scenes, it is still very much a romantic relationship that the two have. Not only the fact that they said "I love you" to one another, but just the lgbtq themes in genereal, which we see throughout the entire series. Personally I would say that they could've done some romantic scenes (hold hands, kiss, cuddle etc.) since they obviously didn't have a problem with showing their ass cracks, but oh well.
Who is Taecyon? Everyone seems know and he kinda popular but i feel i don't know him at all even i'm in Kpop since…
Taecyon is crazyyy popular and mainstream, that's why people are worried it will be some kind of bromance/censored lgbtq series. We all know that most mainstream actors in South Korea refrain from doing "controversial" roles even though, i've got to admit, it has become better throughout the years.
Idk how ppl see bromance in the trailer, cuz did we see the same thing? I mean there's a clear scene where Ryu is scrubbing Johan's back in the shower/sauna, while looking at him with yearning eyes in a dim lighted room. (I just hope I can come back to this comment saying I was right💀)
I won’t be surprised if he started sleeping with Akira during their tutoring session. Someone needs to tell…
I get your point, but I think it's fair to point out that neither of them really understand what is going on. They're in a very unstable position both of them, since neither has actually spoken about their feelings yet. A kiss is obviously not platonic, but without defining the kiss and putting words behind the reasons etc. nor Akira or Kanata will understand their relationship. But I understand your perspective as well.
Seeing people in the comments totally misunderstand this series, and calling Akira a red flag for "making out with an old man, but still flirting with Kanata" is disappointing tbh. Ya'll really be seeing everything black and white when situations like these are much more complex.
I won’t be surprised if he started sleeping with Akira during their tutoring session. Someone needs to tell…
Ya'll are not really getting the point honestly. The tutor is an adult, and took advantage of Akira while he was underage and in a vulnerable position. It's not always easy for a kid to get out of a situation like this, let alone a closeted gay teenager. And idk if ya'll have been paying attention, but it's very clearly shown that Akira had an old friend whom he liked, but most likely ended badly between them (one sided feelings?) This plays a major role in WHY he is anxious and hesitant about Kanata and STILL lets the tutor take advantage of him. The relationship between an abuser and the victim are not always black and white, and being a closeted teenager in a country like Japan is not easy either.
It’s mysterious and I am really wondering how this will unfold
The relationship between Akira and the tutor is not really a "relationship". The tutor took advantage of underage Akira while he was in a vulnerable position. So in other words the tutor is a pedo. It's not always easy for a teen to come out of a situation like this, and being a closeted gay does not make it easier. Also we have been seeing a few flashbacks of Akira and what used to be an old friend, so im assuming he had feelings for that friend, but those feelings resulted in some bad things. This could play a part in why Akira is hesitant despite his feelings for Kanata, and why the tutor keeps taking advantage of him.
