Zhen Huan is a cute shy girl at the beginning but due to all plots taking place in the palace with all concubines he heart becomes harder and she is fighting agains unfair decisions. She has her close friend in the palace as well and they will protect each other all the time. Of course, there is am impossible love with the Emperor's brother which will add even more in the drama until she wrongly think he died and goes back to the Emperor who she hates from the date he expelled her for a mistake she made, plotted by the Empress. She will fortunately get rid of all her enemies and will become Empress Dowager which she perfectly deserves. Sun Li is perfect in her character.

To be honest this drama has traumatised me, it took me a week to try to forget about it. The struggle between all princes to get the throne is so intense at some point that you can't help being taken into it. And of course, Ruoxi can't help being in the middle of it, knowing perfectly what would go on which will motivate her choices and decision to leave 8th Prince and favour 4th Prince who is kind of cold hearted guy at first but is madly in love with her until the end but denies it, until he realizes he ends up alone, all his brothers gone or put in jail. I also watched the sequel which is quite interesting as it takes place in the modern world and the love between both Ruoxi and 4th Prince (now Yizheng) never ended. It goes together with the message written on the ring he is wearing in both dramas, saying that he will find her into her world as he could not in his! so enjoyable dramas which haunted me for a few days after viewing them!

Very refreshing show

I just finished watching it and I really loved it. The story is well written and I found it very refreshing thanks to the female main lead. Ban Shu is so fresh, young, naive in some ways but so true. I found the characters well played, I love Wei Ying (Zhang Zhehan who I discovered watching Yunxi legend) and the chemistry they have together is quite deep. I like to see how the students grow up and change in a good way thanks to their teachers Ben Shu and Yao Jun, a perfect duet. The funny character of Yao Jun added to Huo Heng gives some really funny moments much appreciated. I also like Deng Zhi who is a kind person too despite his rude way of saying things. I also like the way the emperor grows and changes as well, more mature and responsible, soon ready to run his country! The whole story is a real entertainment! I would rewatch again but after a year I guess.

I am usually quite good viewer liking almost all dramas that I watch but sorry not this time. I found the story at the start quite nice and interesting but everything went bad after both characters jumped into the river which erased their memories. Then I did not like how things went, the stupid concubine the Prince is fund of, and who is trying to trick Xiaofeng. Only Gujian (who is really handsome by the way) loves Xiaofeng and is protecting her all along as well as Ah Du her best friend. The story did not have the effect I found into other dramas because there are not intense plots or fights, and the ending is sad too,
So no, this drama did not attract me at all, I will not rewatch it for sure.

This is the first drama I watched and which made me love the ancient china dramas from the moment I started. This even pushed me to do some researches in the Chinese history and I could clearly found some detailed information about the characters. The drama is very well done, poor Li Wei Young is fighting against so many tricky situations and is spared at the last minute as she is smart and always protected by her love Tuoaba Jun. Being patient, understanding and very compassionate, she is the winner of all despicable people at the end. Only the ending is not as expected but she reaches happiness before so it is an acceptable ending for me.

This drama is very modern in spite of the time it takes place. Chu Qiao is cute, smart, skilled and fits perfectly with Yuwen Yue but got lost due to the manipulative Yan Xun for whom she left Yuwen Yue who loves her. She is respected among the military and the general, she has gained her respect with her quality in fighting, she is definitely a leader!! However Yan Xun has betrayed her and she arrived too late to save the love of her life, I really hope we will get a sequel soon, otherwise it is so unfair. The novel is continuing the story so should the producers after this excellent drama!

I love drama with strong female lead roles and Lu Zhen is one of a kind. Zhao li ying is so cute, naive at the start but quickly learns how to handle things, supported by the Prince her love, the Emperor and the Empress at the end. It took some time for her to gain their trust but it did help her to get revenge for her father's death. Her trust into Ah Zhen is so deep that even when he is trapped by Chen Bi they find a way to solve the problem: then they are allowed to get married. Unfortunately due to some circumstances she can never be his Empress, but they can working and staying together and share their love.
Overall a very nice drama to watch, both actors are perfectly matching together, they are really cute (I really like Chen Xiao).

I really enjoyed the story with various plots among the Palace. All characters have their own personality, good and bad things. I like the chemistry between Fuca Fuheng and Wei Yingluo unfortunately things did not go as expected. After reading the Qing Dynasty historic details I found that the drama is quite reliable in following the events as they were with a little fiction very enjoyable. Wei Yingluo is very smart, naughty sometimes and does always find a way to get out of trouble even if sometimes it does not work. She has lots of enemies but she always find a way to deal with them.
