Are we watching the same drama? Wuwu couple has such a long screentime in episode 11. In fact this drama has one of the fairest screentime distributions.

I'm curious on how you get the impression. I watched till ep 11 and both couples have scenes in every episode.

They have their own arc where they act out the stories of Wu Shiguang's parents in the later eps. Its just not their turn yet.

Ju Jingyi is reported for tax evasion. Whether true or not this drama needs to drop asap.

I think we can forget about this drama until Ju Jingyi's lawsuit is settled. Youku is almost confirmed to air Light to the Night instead. The drama's producer complained on Weibo that they have to rush the drama's promotional materials because that drama was supposed to broadcast in end April, but now they have to broadcast in early April to replace VOS's slot.

Yea they definitely added substance to her character. Before the military arc many thought her character was extra and added just to steal screentime. But after the arc alot of people started liking her for her friendship with Changyu.

Yea she didn't.

The thing is they already added the whole physician arc for her, where she realizes her responsibility as a princess. If not she wouldn't appear until the very end when the main leads enter the palace. I don't think there's any more significance to her character other than being Gongsun's love interest.

My favorites are Legend of Yunxi, In A Class of Her Own and Sword and Fairy 4.

She did most of the work, but Xie Zheng also shot an arrow at Lord Chang Xin.

I don't get why they had to change the plot from the novel. Changyu and Xie Zheng worked together to kill Lord Changxin in the novel, but they changed it to her killing him alone. Despite equal billing, it seems like the drama is a female centric one. Jin Ye and the Man brothers did not exist in the novel, but were added in drama as Changyu's sidekicks. Although I love Changyu as a character, I lowkey feel bad for Xie Zheng as he is sidelined despite being hailed as the god of war.

Idk if she can act or not (I'm not picky on acting tbh, as long as they aren't too terrible) but her face is distracting me because while she looks pretty, it looks very... plastic and fake, especially her nose. But I have no idea her team is trying to bring down the princess. I also initially found the scenes with the princess boring, but I'm loving her interactions with FCY. Qi Bengong was hilarious.

The only reason why they are receiving so much attention is because people like the forced love troupe. When they become the first lead in their own dramas, no one will pay them any attention. This happened to all the second leads who tried to upstage the first leads. Once they get their own lead roles, most of them flopped. So don't worry too much about it. The main leads are still receiving the most attention and ranked top in every popularity charts in China.

But Zhang Linghe is definitely ranked the second in terms of screentime so there's no way side characters are gonna have more than him. His screentime will definitely increase next week when they begin the military arc.

Its becoming more common lately for the second couples to try to "upstage" the main couple in dramas. It happened with the second couple too in Love Story in the 1970s. The second couple is putting in alot of promotion for themselves because its their chance to promote from second lead to first lead. There are even rumors of them collaborating for the third time in a modern drama.

Just want to say that I'm glad Esther got dropped (or she dropped the drama). I've never liked her visuals and her voice. And this was an anticipated drama for me (before she got announced) because its produced by the team behind A Journey to Love.

BHH. MYM has way too little scenes to be annoying.

I don't think it'll look dated since its a republican drama and not a modern day one.
