Oh my gosh this is so good! I'm totally hooked! Loving the character development so far and how each episode ends on a cliffhanger. So glad I picked this up. π₯°
But Neo is so good! I didn't know about this :( I hope he prevails and achieves even more recognition & popularity because honestly he deserves it he is so talented! After FoF, I've become a fan β₯οΈ
I needed something different after watching Fated Hearts like 3 times lol and picked this up because of Cheng Lei, but wow I loved Fangs of Fortune! Different vibe and atmosphere. Very beautiful, artistic production from the team behind My Journey to You which I also loved.
I got so attached to the main characters, especially Zhao Yuan Zhu and Zhuo Yi Chen β₯οΈ. I feel so sad with the incredibly poignant ending but it makes one reflect and appreciate life and all of its joys & messiness π.
Another amazing part of FoF is the beautiful OST β₯οΈ. I'll be listening to this for a while.
If there was any kind of weakness, I think the ending could have been paced better. Also the plot / journey was a bit chaotic and I had to stop a few times and think, ok what are they doing and why, but then I just let it go and let the plot flow. Also had some issues with the acting like I didn't think the actor that played the main antagonist, the doctor, was that great. Also a bit disappointed that Wen Xiao was not able to do much at the end. Otherwise, I loved it β₯οΈ.
How do you all manage to wait for new episodes every day for this masterpiece? Iβm glad I put it on hold cause…
I survived by coming here! π The wait was thrilling & really enjoyed everyone's thoughts & speculations here. I've rewatched it already and still cannot let go!
that fighting scene at episode 12 is amazing. does it keep up? honestly, episode 12 scene is one of the best Iβve…
There's a really memorable fighting scene in Legend of the Female General episode 12, I think, involving the use of a whip as a formidable yet elegant weapon. I was floored when I first saw this and had to rewatch, it was that amazing!
I also enjoyed My Journey to You for the fighting scenes, also story, atmosphere, acting, etc. but the open ending was a bummer.
Finally, finished the drama. It took me longer than I thought to finish this drama. The beginning and the ending…
I feel you! I had to fast forward through most of the middle until his memory came back, basically I hung in there for Cheng Lei π₯°, who did an amazing job playing 2 different characters. I'm not a fan of SY's acting and fighting style, so wasn't really convinced with her character and didn't really feel the CP vibe either. He was so good with ZL as CP in LOTFG but even better with Lu Yuxiao in MJTY!
Just want to share this. I saw in another comments section that Qin Tian Yu (Sheng Di / Xia Jing Yan) is in The…
He also played Lu Xian, Zhang Ling He's business man friend who fell in love with You Fangyin in Story of Kunning Palace. Quite eye-catching even then, but he is completely at another level here! π«
Thank you for this great review & analysis!πππ Even though this drama has ended, there is still much food for thought and still savoring everyone's insights. Really appreciated the themes you presented and analyses of characters, their relationships, and developmental arcs. I'm still affected by Fated Hearts & not yet ready to move on!
I get where Princess Xiyang is coming from and she's just blindly in love with Xia Jingshi. But gosh. I used to…
I'm rewatching now (because I love it!) and am noticing things I didn't before. I think that the princess's behavior makes sense considering how she was raised. Like for ex. in ep 9, there was this exchange between her & the Susha empress before her marriage,
Susha empress: "...always remember, you are Susha's most beloved princess. You have the right and the standing to obtain anything you desire."
FXY: "Mother, can I really get anything I want?" (cough, XJS, cough)
Susha empress: "Of course..."
I agree with the person that commented on how they felt really sorry for the princess because she was sincere about her feelings for XJS, and did everything she could to "get" him. Definitely went about it in a spoiled, entitled, delusional way, but she was determined and strong willed, learning the hard way that you can't force feelings. I think something FSG said later on alluded to this saying something like you can learn about others' pain only if you fall. She went through such heartbreak in Jinxiu which shattered her delusions and made her value her family, basically she grew up. Personally, I think it was a good call for FSG to appoint her as regent for 3 years while he rests and enjoys life with FYX!
He committed crimes against humanity, ie planning to sacrifice his own people at the battle of Pingling & the death camps. I get taking revenge against his cruel stepmother & half brother, but why sacrifice his own people, why bother being a ruler it's just a charade. He also killed his supposed #1 ally/love YX, abandoned the Jinxiu head eunuch, and put a sword through the princess FXY. I don't buy that he just tried to kill her child. He is Beyond selfish and saving. Wow the scriptwriters made such a ruthless villain here.
What an adventure! 10/10 & my current #1 Cdrama. Really loved it and coming here joining you all in the angst & excitement made it even more enjoyable. Will miss our MC and all the characters. Bravo to the cast, crew, and production!!! πππ
Last ep - Wow amazing epic moment between FSG & XJS when they're both sharing the screen & vowing to kill each other!
I'm just so impressed with this and feeling all kinds of emotions atm. XJS is the ultimate heartless, deluded, and irredeemable villain! He got his revenge but lost his humanity and YX.

It shows how alike the Feng siblings are~!

So intense, so good, would love to see him as the ML in the future. He's stealing the show in Jinxiu!
