Might just be my favorite show
I've watched other shows in this universe, such as Legend of Zang Hai, Ultimate Note, and Time Raiders, but this is by far my top 1 out of all of them. This story makes you laugh, cry, and feel emotions throughout the show. I finished this drama within 2-ish days and put aside all the other dramas that i was currently watching. When watching this drama, i lost track of time, and it felt like each episode took only a little bit of time, instead of 30-40 minutes.I have not watched any of Zhang Xincheng's work yet, so this was my first impression. It wasn't bad, but it definitely lacked more of the need to cry when the sad scenes came. Zhang Xincheng was better on the funny scenes. Ding Yuxi, on the other hand, is crazy impressive. I've seen plenty of Ding Yuxi's work since he's one of my favorite actors, but seeing him play this role as someone who has 2 consiousnesses in one body is truly fascinating. Whenever he turned into the actual zhang haixia during the sad scenes near the end, you can just feel what zhang haixia is thinking and you can feel his emotions. Seeing the real zhang haixia during sad scenes made me want to tear up.
I really hope that there's another season to this drama 🙏🙏

this review is more of my disorganized thoughts abt this show
I watched ultimate note before n the cast wasn't bad. I did hope the actor for zhang qiling could level up a little, and here it was! Xiang cheng as zhang qiling was quite what i hoped for. the fact that he n xu zhanxuan had another show together also upgraded their chemistry too. When i was watching the show, I was shocked that people actually built something this big and high quality. The tree and fire in the kiln was insane. In the 2nd adventure, the ship, wuxie n zhang qiling mentioned that the floors change the moment they step out of a room. Idk how the builders made that set, but its insane. I love this cast more than the other ones, but i wished they had pan zi from ultimate note. Honestly, I was quite surprised when zang hai was mentioned because earlier in the year, i watched legend of zang hai n when it came to the scene where they first discover who the man was on the heavenly cloud palace wtv, i predicted that it was zanghai n i was correct! i feel like a ning could've been better if she were more fierce or ruthless.Was this review helpful to you?

wasnt bad until the mid end
The show was going great until around ep 25. At first, it was all nice and lovey and great but then they decided to kill the 2nd couple (qian n the bandit). but before that happened, it already went downhill because like idk, i felt like they gave random ppl more screentime or it was repetitive. for example, when prince li tried to find the crown prince n failed. he tried again n again. I kept going because I wanted to see cheng lei in his dark outfit and role which felt like foreverrr. im not a huge fan of song yi but she is watchable, considering follow your heart. that is where i found my shang bieli! Waiting for lu xin n mo yin get together was such a hope for me but i didnt get to see it cs i dropped it. anyways, 7.5 stars, was great but went downhill around ep 20(20 smth).Was this review helpful to you?
