Hwa Jung could stop Ji Ah from risking her life recklessly if she just stopped lying to her and trying to manipulate her. I get that she cares about her, but Ji Ah is literally ready to do anything just to find out what happened now which will lead to greater chances of her being harmed. I don't know what Hwa Jung is hiding but I'm tired of her deceitful a**.
That poor girl? Lol she coulda told him NO within the first five minutes of meeting him. It's not like he would…
She's in a much more tricky position because she's new and she's an employee. She had no way of knowing what would happen if she refused him, and as the person in the position of power it's up to him to put a stop to it. She could say no, sure, but that could lead to him making her lose her job because she made him unhappy. Employers should be more conscious of crossing the line. I even had the same problem with the actress inviting the tutor to drink and talking to her like they're friends.
It seems to me that the tutor and the illegitimate son are going to drive the actress mad cos the gaslighting has already started. If the tutor isn't the one who's dead I will be very disappointed cos I really don't like her.
I don't care at all for the story of the young maid and the grandson. He's incredibly inconsiderate but we're supposed to feel sorry for him because his mother left and he has trouble sleeping? That poor girl is hanging onto this job for dear life and he only cares about his needs which may end up costing her this job.
Finally, I cannot stand the mother and daughter plate-destroying duo. They are so annoying and the constant screaming is more than I can take.
I'm confused as to why FL can't ask for an advance so she can rent her own place. This kind of logic where she has to live at his place in secret makes no sense to me and that constantly takes me out of it.
Apart from that, everything else is ridiculous and since I decided not to care even a little bit, it's been more enjoyable to watch. It's good to pass the time with, but I'm not invested in any of the characters yet so I'm not affected by their foolishness lol.
Also, after 4 eps I find the FL to be way less likeable than the ML. He's not great by any means, but of the two, he's been much more palatable.
This was certainly a painful journey but truly satisfying. Not even the alt ending could fix my broken heart. I loved this show, and I would've loved it even more if there was just a little less pain.
I'm at ep 8 after taking a couple of weeks off from this drama and one trope that never fails to irritate me is when people say "I know who is behind this" and then don't say who it is. Why did his brother bother saying that if he wasn't going to tell him who it is? What's the point of writing "it's someone close to us" when the big reveal is that it's a person we have never actually seen before because in fact, he's not close to them. He could easily have written "it's X from such and such a place" and saved us all some time. I find that very, very annoying and I just had to rant a bit lol.
Agreed. It struck me that in a show that is full of morally questionable characters, especially Vincenzo, they…
I think it also made it worse for me because we know Vincenzo is a man who's comfortable around violence so it was obviously not the guy's character that got that reaction out of him. I know there's a lot of exaggeration in the show already but the one character who had not displayed that kind of behaviour was Vincenzo, until of course that telling moment. I can understand your annoyance and frustration. It was unnecessary.
i also want to point out that homophobia isnt just a violent or repulsed reaction to gay ppl it also includes…
Agreed. It struck me that in a show that is full of morally questionable characters, especially Vincenzo, they really went out of their way to portray the only confirmed gay man as a special kind of psychopath. I got the feeling that the guy at the clothes shop taking his measurements was also checking him out and his reaction there was also iffy. I feel like there are many ways they could've gone that wouldn't have played into this tired, offensive, stereotype but here we are (ノ`Д´)ノ彡┻━┻
I guess the way it ended makes some sense because it's literally called "The Beginning", but boy did that feel completely underwhelming and disappointing. It had a lot of promise but in the end, I was left wishing for a more compelling plot with more coherent characters. I'm not mad I watched it, I just wish different choices were made.
I wish I could go back to the beginning of this show when Gu Reum was smart and savvy and not so easily manipulated. Ep 10 left a sour taste in my mouth and as much as I've been annoyed with her before, I've never been so disgusted with her behaviour. People always claim they don't have a problem with anyone who isn't like them until they have the "other" in their own home.
Can't believe Zi O stopped seeing himself as some kind of horrible creature only for Gu Reum to turn around and curse him for being who he is and call him a monster again. There's only so much abuse anyone can take before you just embrace the negative and I guess he's at his limit now, even if he still thinks it's just a means to the end of protecting his family.
Anyway, I expect the church leader, the doctor and that other dude to be dead by the time this show is over. Also, that captain has to be the biggest idiot on planet earth and I don't know why he's still alive.
Just on ep 15 and my biggest problem is that Tang San keeps putting himself at risk for Xiao Wu when he doesn't have to if she was just honest with him. I think I know what her deal is so I understand why she's skeptical, but he basically spilled every secret he had to her in spite of his father's warnings and she still hasn't been truthful with him about anything. It's making it hard for me to get on her side.
Idk y every single episode makes me feel a next level of disgust especially with yu shin.. how can she just blindly…
I was so scared he was going to turn out to be a monster and she would be the example they gave. That was so irresponsible of her especially since she doesn't actually have anyone to turn to if something had happened. When he was telling her to lock her door and not open for anyone (except him, implied) I was very, very worried. He's obviously an expert at manipulation.
I know right! i was just laughing at their foolishness lol, I think there are alot of reasons why the Empress…
I get that her family was killed by the Wangs, but then the Wangs except Awu and her brother (not counting the old Empress) also almost lost everything. Awu lost her parents and her baby and her ability to have children ever all at once. Plus the Xie family is still one of the families in power and she's the Empress. Her husband may have started out liking Awu but he also loved her a lot in spite of how they started. She just needed someone to hate and decided to take it out on Awu even though anyone with a brain could see that Awu was just trying to live in peace.
Lol, I don't blame you for skipping. I skip a lot too, especially scenes with Jin'er and Zi Tan.
