Dynamic is similar, one part of the pairing is quite manipulative and is seeking revenge due to circumstances, their partner has a different moral compass than them and works to talk them out of revenge at some point in the story. As a side note, there’s a body guard and employer side couple

From 2013 but a far more intriguing story about the rise of a woman in court without the lame lovesickness storylines.

Both FL become officials through their study and perseverance. But way better than Royal Betrothal in that the story revolves around her abilities and overcoming challenges working with a mature and wise leader, vs Betrothal's devolving into slash and burn rooting out corruption and rescued just in time by a juvenile smitten emperor who puts his life on the line for her and allows life threatening missions and says he wants to protect her but she constantly gets accused and takes the physical punishment when mean get accused and tried......so if you want a more logical story re: female official look here.

[My Little Happiness] [Fireworks of My Heart]
• surgeon Wen Shao Qing -> • fire chief Song Yan
• legal intern Cong Rong -> • ER Doctor Xu Qin

what they have in common
• they were friends already before
• both of the female leads have strong motivation for their careers
• both female leads ends up working at the same place as the male leads; however for 'Fireworks of My Heart' the working in the same place is just for a little while

Contemporary Chinese urban dramas: Both The Early Spring and Best Choice Ever are modern Chinese dramas that combine workplace, romance, and personal-growth storylines.
* Boss-employee dynamics: Both feature a demanding, high-level, cold-on-the-surface male lead and an ordinary, hardworking female lead who proves her capability.
* Similar main couples: In The Early Spring, Luan Nian and Shang Zhitao have a superior-subordinate relationship, while in Best Choice Ever, Yao Zhiming and Mai Chenghuan also develop a relationship connected to their professional lives.
* Personal growth and independence: Both female leads gradually move away from professional or family pressures and become more independent, confident, and self-reliant.
* Slow-burn romance: Both stories focus on a gradual shift from a tense or strictly professional relationship into a deeper emotional romance.
* Workplace challenges: The female leads face difficulties at work and must prove themselves through hard work, determination, and personal growth.
* Cold male lead and resilient female lead: Both dramas use the dynamic of a stern, demanding male lead paired with a strong, capable female lead who does not give up easily.
* Realistic life pressures: Both shows balance romance with career struggles, family expectations, personal responsibilities, and changes in life.
* Overall similarity: Both dramas follow the journey of an ordinary young woman who grows stronger and more independent while gradually developing a deep relationship with a seemingly cold and powerful man.
