They are both the same "mystery" kind of drama. They are kinda similar with the antagonist wherein they want to take advantage of the ability of the FL.

Both starring the amazing Nikaido Fumi as the muse of a novelist that leads to their downfall. Artsy cinematography. A mixture of imagination and reality. Aims to mature audience.

BLACKPINK Summer Diary in Hawaii is the first in the BLACKPINK Summer Diaries. The Hawaii Diary was released in 2019 and was filmed in Hawaii, like the name suggests.

BLACKPINK Summer Diary in Seoul is the prequel to BLACKPINK Summer Diary in Everland. However, the Seoul version released in 2020 and the Blackpink members filmed this diary in Seoul, Korea.

I think personality traits of female lead and male lead are similar in both dramas and the type of industry they work in. Male characters come off as very cold and strict with everything around them and it starts to change towards the end. Female leads are silly and bold. Both are slow burn romances

Shen Yi Yi lives in the city and has excellent cooking skills. When she was young, she was friends with Shen Die Yi. Die Yi abruptly dies of a cough and her life remains a mystery. In order to repay her friendship with Die Yi, Yi Yi poses as Die Yi and heads to Chang’an Lu Xing to fulfill the marriage contract. As well, she wants to find out the truth behind Die Yi’s life. In order to delay the marriage, Yi Yi dresses up like a man and enters the Shangyi Guan alongside with Die Yi’s fiancé, Tang Jiu Hua. They also meet Yang Zi An who was ordered by the emperor to hide his identity and enter Shangyi Guan. Together, Shen Yi Yi, Yang Zi An, Tang Jiu Hua, second prince Li Xin Yuan and swordsman Du Gu Mu Xue solve many strange cases. They face the embassy of the East Kingdom, and form the “five sons of Shangyi Guan”, becoming famous in all of Chang’an. Together, the five must ride out the difficulties and bring peace to the kingdom.

Hong Ra On disguises herself as a man and counsels men on dating. Due to a love letter she wrote for a client, she meets Crown Prince Hyo Myeong. Ra On is unaware that he is the Crown Prince and Hyo Myeong is unaware that Ra On is a woman. The Crown Prince becomes interested in Ra On. His eunuchs become aware of this and attempt to get Ra On to become one of them.

Mu Jue Chen is the Qian Mu Mountain Pavilion's Young Master. Dashingly handsome, exceptionally clever, and skilled in the martial arts, he is beloved by his subjects. Unfortunately, he is also exceptionally arrogant and self-obsessed.

Both dramas are historical Samurai based Japanese television series from the 1960s-1970s. Both male leads fight corruption, keep the peace, and protect the innocent.

- One guy doesn’t really like the other much at the start (will go as far to say, one hated the other)
- Enemies to lovers
- TharnType is very questionable though, depending on your moral code (ie. sexual assault)

Both dramas have three brothers infatuated and chasing after one revenging female lead. Both female leads encourage the brothers' interests and actively pursue her vengeance for their fathers.

- Both are slow-paced + centered around police officers and the crime/injustices that they confront
- While BE is darker and deals with a key plotline throughout, Live explores multiple cases thoroughly with a comparable level of grit and realism
- The MLs organically transition from a forced, clashing partnership to a trusting bromance
