Atmosphere/tone of the show was similar in some ways. Both stories change their focus in the middle of the show. Involves the police working with prosecutors. Crime shows that have a insane male lead who’s an older detective with a bad past. In both there’s also a younger main character with a huge sense of justice. The team/partnership aspect of both dramas is very well laid out in their stories as well.

A cold man meeting and reluctantly falling for a warm and quirky woman. And there is the thing with him calling her baka/idiot in both dramas - apparently in Japan it's a sign of a great romance...!

The female lead also has some static power, but it doesn't interfere much on their love life though.
