Both involve a FL travelling through time. ML and FL are from different eras. MRN plays in modern times while MOLS plays in the 6th-century Goguryeo (= part of today's South and North Korea) (I mean... for once it's not Joseon!!!). Both are rom-coms that involve famous historic Korean figures, strong FLs and bikering couple/Love-hate relationships.

Both have an exceptional male lead fighting to change a broken system. Both have a silly but fun second male lead and a nutty but strong female sidekick. Both fight for regular people against politics and corruption.

Both plots follow a simple, sweet plot: an accidental meeting thrusts the bright, optimistic lead into the grumpy lead's life. In Duang with You, Duang falls for Qin and wears down his walls. In Cat for Cash, Lynx (who hates cats and his mother) is forced to run his mom's cat café alongside Tiger, a debt collector who literally understands cat language.

The character dynamic works so well because it acts as emotional healing. The bubbly characters (Duang and Tiger) act as a safe space for the cold characters (Qin and Lynx) to let go of past pain. Plot-wise, neither show is heavy or stressful. They focus on simple, everyday romantic gestures like taking care of cats, making snacks, or just listening, turning their initial chaotic encounters into a warm, safe home.

Both Revenged Love and Double Helix revolve around obsessive, toxic power dynamics where a heartbroken protagonist gets entangled in a scheme of revenge, only to be consumed by deep, unavoidable romantic feelings.

Both shows start with a deceptively straightforward plot trigger: somebody separates or humiliates the protagonist, pushing them into a revenge plot as a coping mechanism. However, the plot quickly shifts from a game of manipulation to an emotional trap. The sheer intensity of their situations forces both couples into situations where they can't simply walk away.

Characters like Suo Wei (Revenged Love) and Cheng Yichen (Double Helix) start out seemingly vulnerable and at a disadvantage. Yet, they have sharp wits and a fierce survival instinct. They aren't passive damsels; they fight back, which is exactly what draws the other lead in.

Figures like Chi Cheng (Revenged Love) and Lu Feng (Double Helix) present an icy exterior or an aggressive, dominant front to the world. Underneath, they are intensely, almost scarily, devoted to the protagonist, creating a push-pull chemistry that drives the angst.
