Each drama has different storylines but they have a similar vibe to each other. They are both very funny and the main male lead in both dramas is Jo Jung Suk.
Both dramas are about reconnecting with the ex years after they break up and solving the problem that caused them to break up in the first place. My Sunshine is more sombre whilst My Best Ex-Boyfriend is more comedy.
They are both crime dramas with a past connection between the male lead and the female lead. Throughout the drama, the crimes they solve lead to a bigger picture which shows their past connection. Also a romance develops between them in both dramas.
They are both about best friends falling in love. In ILULULI (taiwan drama) they already live with each other whilst in 9E2O (korean drama) they come to live together later in the drama. Both the male leads have another love interest as well.
They are both student-teacher relationship. Hello Mr. Right is a Chinese drama whilst Close Range Love is a Japanese movie.
Same story from same novel. One is a 58 episodes drama and one is a movie. Both drama and movie have amazing cast
Both protagonists want nothing more than to achieve success in their professional life. They also can't help getting involved in their surrounding matters, even if that means putting themselves in dangerous situations. Both men lead face multiple struggles in order to climb on top, and they have a naïve view on how tricky people and corporation life can really be.
They both have a supernatural lead that is trying to adjust to living in the human world. Even though the supernatural person is a guy. Also, one of them is also trying to get famous although the one is this drama is already famous. Both of these dramas are really good.
The korean drama was the third remake of the japanese drama "101 kaime no proposal"
This Korean movie was the first adaptation of the japanese drama
The chinese serie is the second adaptation of the japanese drama "101 kaime no proposal"
The main lead have zhao li ying ang william chan and also the ending was pretty similar
Both male leads meet their future self and rushes against time to save the female lead lead from her impending death in the present.
Similar storyline were the main female lead is involved with the death of main male leads girlfriend thus creating a love/hate relationship between them. Secret is Korean whilst Kleun Cheewit is Thai.
For me, the feeling of these dramas was the same. Nirvana does not have romance, but love is used, sometimes, in Empress Ki as mean to a purpose.
You cannot get bored at any if these two dramas and if you like strategy and court intrigues dramas, make sure you watch both. Great leads and supporting actors/actresses in both, stunning visuals, suspense.
I do believe Nirvana was better acted and characters were more complex, but if you liked one of these 2, don't miss the other one.
