This comparison is a bit of a spoiler for Light Shop, but it can't be helped.

The dramas are very different, but at the same time, have many similarities. Both made me cry for much the same reasons.

LtHT is more melodramatic while TM is more action/thriller.

Both productions tell the story of the same man - Lee Rock (Lui Lok), a.k.a one of the most corrupted policemen from Hong Kong

The Romance of Tiger and Rose is a parody with social commentary while Laplae the Hidden Town is a serious melodrama.

Both have subtle start and similar ending. These are very peaceful to watch, though to the wonder is more set into the olden times but still it makes an impact similar to la boum. Anyhow, i didn't want both of them to end.

FL undergoing transformation and she pursues her dream. Also ML helps her in achieving said dream. Sparks fly between them obviously.

1. The two kdramas center strong women, who do whatever they can to protect the people and morals they hold dear to them.

2. They are both Sageuk kdramas, even though one is about a queen and the other is about a slave, there's something peculiar about the two kdramas

Both of them are from gmmtv with blind main leads. Aof is the director of last twilight and the producer of pluto.

If you loved the mix of romance and fantasy in A Good Day to Be a Dog, you’ll enjoy Legend of the Blue Sea. -Similar topic of a place in between. Characters aren't at first sure where they are or if they are alive.
-moves between worlds and at first you're not sure what's real or what's not.
-the Japanese is a movie so it moves very fast and you don't get the background of all the characters who are in the place (mine or working for the mine).
-Japanese movie is more philosophical, while Korean tries to be spooky and evilish.
The Korean series provides a lot of background on the characters and is a bit too dark in terms of cinematography.
-Of course, Japanese is minimalist as usual with fewer characters, but very beautiful cinematography.

This isn't a bl explicitly but the male leads have pretty intense chemistry and tension through out that makes it better than so many of the actual bl's out there.

The female leads in both dramas come from broken homes.
Male leads in both dramas want the best for their female leads.
Both dramas have the leads face incredible hardship which they are able to overcome.
Both dramas have leads that want to pursue careers in music.
Both dramas have the found family trope.
You can a learn a thing or two about life from both dramas.
