One of the leads has a terminal disease and is dying. They try to spend their last days with their loved ones and enjoy it as much as they can. Romantic with angst at times.
Both are melodramas with a angsty romantic stories. The FLs in both dramas are terminally ill and try to spend their remaining days with the one they love.
Both have a terminal patient lead which develops a relationship with a ML so different from them. Both angsty romantic melodramas

similar to QVV:
master-discipline relationship with the second ML and the FL
strong martial arts + strategy leader FL
FL has been faking her identity (AJTL: faked her death)
FL has multiple disciplines and she's respected by both her peers and her enemies
FL is warm-hearted and truly cares about the people who work for her and want to do something for them.

Both feature a younger, severely ill female lead with a bright personality and a calm, older, reticent male lead who gradually softens to her charms. Both have strong performances that really make the characters work and brings a lot of nuance to the roles. The Forbidden Flower has more of a sultry summer vibe with lush vibrant cinematography (at least when it’s not off doing pointless side stories with supporting characters). Our Movie has more understated visuals and atmosphere. It’s less striking, but overall stylistically more sophisticated and has artful editing. Both are contemporary takes on the classic melodramas of the 90s and 00s. Our Movie is also commenting on its own genre, because the characters are remaking a 90s melodrama.
Identity swap, detective/mystery, revenge, smart female lead, smart male lead.
