Manuel is a Filipino actor who was a big name in his early years. Now, he’s had a dry patch for several years. He travels to Japan to illegally work in a cabaret. There he meets Shigeru, a construction manager who is bankrupt due to unpaid debts.

They eventually collaborate to capture a high-profile killer-at-large, aiming for the huge reward money. Can a middle-aged man and an actor with little to no martial arts training out match a psychotic killer with multiple victims to his name?

It is similar to When Life Gives You Tangerines because both address the theme of family, and deal with factors such as family friction, lies, how to raise children, parents' sacrifices to educate their children in the best way, forbidden romances.

Kimchi Family is about a lovely old restaurant that has been run by a family for a long time. You will hear beautiful dialogues about food in this series :)

Both of these dramas feature life following the Cultural Revolution and its impact on ordinary Chinese families. Don't be put off by the "cheating" in Way To Airport, I was skeptical at 1st too, but the lead's husbnd and wife are both awful people, one cheates on her first with her bff, the other does something horrible involving his child....

A similar slice of life drama about a father-daughter duo in Kyoto which also explores the local culture of Kyoto. Miyako is about the father being a private doctor doing house visits in Kyoto while Kamogawa is about the father running an a special eatery in Kyoto.

Even though 1 is a movie & 1 is a drama, both have the strong theme of being cursed with bad luck...........................
