Story is told / main investigation is conducted through the eye of a forensic examiner
and so the detective work is started with the forensic expert visiting the crime scene
(which is usually visited by police detectives and forensic team collecting evidence. A forensic examiner is an optional to visit the crime scene, it seems)

Both are Crime Drama Thrillers with the Main Lead working in/ for police department (criminal profiler or a forensic expert), now living with a teenage daughter, who is forced to live with him after her parents' divorce n after her mom's death.

Dramas share the same director, there is similarity in cinematography and pace. Both are bl, however plots differ a lot., those are about romance development

Chinese Remake
I think the Korean Version is better than the Chinese.
I never saw the Japanse Original Version

A very similar setup with a case lasting years to solve until the mains work on it.

With some difference being the length of the case in question.

The leads seem to have similar motivations
