Actually they're kinda different. The only thing they share was switching. In TSP, soul. While in AFS, their face only. TSP is more comical than AFS but the latter had a wholesome plot.
Both play with "what is real and what is part of the story." I can't explain more without spoiling.
The line between reality is intentionally blurred. I wish I could say more but it's a spoiler to really elaborate. Both also have memorable directing styles, though Funeral Parade of Roses is definitely more experimental.
Melodramas about two strangers from different countries. Both halves of the leads are from Japan. Both have a similar aesthetic. Granted, I don't think this one will be as sad as 18x2 but romance-wise this is it.
Writers of scripts/novels end up in their own works by accident and have to get inventive in order to find a way out. Their main problem is how they wrote the ML (who is pretty set in because they were written that way) and that the main scenes of the plot have to happen in order for the story to advance.
Both are hilarious and actually very entertaining.

Both supernatural beings must contend with the knowledge that whichever one of them fails by the end of the hundred days will be erased from existence, and the longer they stay on Earth the further their powers fade and the more human they become.
