Some good action scenes again, for both dramas - hopefully Red Swan doesn't have an open ending.

A woman of mystery and a bodyguard with a secret agenda in both dramas. Some good action scenes in both dramas. The ML acts and looks cool while the FL has the cold-blooded reasoning. There is a streak of romance in both dramas.

It remains to be seen how Red Swan gets to its ending and if it's satisfactory for the story it tries to tell.

- In both shows, the dominant female leads elects the male lead to be her child's father.
They just firmly say "give me a child" and that's it, while the male leads disagree at first because they believe love should be involved to constitute a family.
- Female leads are in an urge to marry/have a child due to someone else advice whom already passed away.

Rental Nan mo Shinai Hito is the male lead doing all sorts of random things for the clients while Rental no Koi is the female lead accompanying the client as a temporary girlfriend.

Similar tale of someone who is in a rental service meeting different types of people every episode while struggling with the realities of life.

First, they are both unhinged. Sometimes their humor is so over the top, but I love that. It's the best medicine to make you laugh. Both have romance but waikiki has more focus on friendship rather than romance, while freaking fairytale focus on the romance between two leads.

They're both so funny and have the same type of humor. Also, they both have romcom as a focus and don't steer to another genre (ex. sudden thriller). I consider them healing drama, where I can just laugh and not think deeply about anything.

The comedy aspect of these two make them stand out.

Step by step focuses on a team manager and an office worker slowly falling in love with time and mutual efforts. They have to live through a lot of problems and at one point almost seemingly never find back together- but their love wins.

The 1983 version. Also done by Hong Kong. This version is the most memorable to people who grew up familiar with the novel. Barbra Young and Felix Wong play Huang Rong and Guo Jing. Their chemistry and dynamic is what set the tone for the future adaptions.

This is the 1994 TVB Hong Kong Version of the same novel by Jin yong. Although older and less production vaule, it still classics, and one of the versions most people in the 90's grew up. This was made during the Hong Kong 90's era where alot of classics came from Hong Kong film productions.
