The dynamics of main leads r very similar and the character portrayal and psychology match heavily , ray drove me crazy when he tried to own sand but loved mew just like ming loves tong but considers joe as a replace.
Also the chemistry is just solid GOOD ( in Only friends ), they truelly deliver LUST during their fun time

Ps. Only friends is the harem of kissing everybody so avoide shipping any couple with too much craze.

The dark aesthetics are similar only that Atypical Family actually has fantasy elements. FL in IONTBO has mental health issues and in Atypical Family it's the ML. FL in IONTBO is prickly and in AF it is the ML. Both are quirky in tone and slightly darkly comedic

Same female lead, Kanna Hashimoto, plays a police officer as well. In Keishicho Ikimono Gakari, she's the police pet detective taking care of animals found at the crime scenes and uses her close relationship with the animals to find clues to solve the cases. Similar vibes and humor.

The biggest similarity for me is probably how both show that behind the perfect image of popular students, there are a lot of insecurities, hidden feelings and complicated relationships. But Crushology 101 is much lighter and more romantic, while Hierarchy has a darker and more intense atmosphere.
