Time travel shenanigans, a bubbly and spunky FL going back to her past (college days, in case of Legally Romance), a second-chance at fixing her life, and of-course, discovering the ML has always loved her, but they never were together because of missed confessions and wrong timings. Precious friendships that last well into adulthood. Comedic moments that are absolute gold. Strong nostalgic vibes from the 'facebook era' :)

Time travelling grew up in the same neighbourhood. The male lead travels many times to change the female lead's destiny in First Love Again. In Lovely Runner, the female lead travels back to change the male lead's destiny.

Its similar as the male lead is in the entertainment industry. Male and female lead went to the same school, grew up in the same neighbourhood. The height difference. The difference is that uncontrollably fond is melo, sad and tragic , lovely runner is cute and time travelling but also sad and some type of tragic.

In the aftermath of the same disaster, these 2 films explore stories of grief, loss, and the memories that places hold. While one is a documentary and prose, and the other a short film, they both have the same slow, mellow tone that accentuates the quiet and deep-rooted grief of the narrative tellers.

Similar premise of an inexperienced guy falling in love with a beautiful woman who is completely out of his league, as he get his first taste of love and heartbreaks.

Although Densha Otoko is more comedic, Takane no Hana is more serious, due to the overall plot of her family's story of succession and inheritance.

First, both are asadora dramas. They are set during the similar time periods (early 1900s to early 1950s, though Oshin goes on to the 80s). Both FLs are daughters of sharecroppers and the dramas show how harsh that life can be. Hanako to Anne, however, is portrayed more happier than Oshin.
