Both FLs have been through quite a lot which left them being cold and indifferent to the world. Enter the MLs who slowly but steadily break down their walls by just being devoted to the FLs.
Both shows have quite the romantic and healing touch to them.
FLs and MLs are "coworkers".
In both shows there is an obstacles hindering them to be truly together (in YRS the secret of their shared past and in E their work/FL's past relationship).

Although the male lead doesn't time-travel in Love for Love's Sake like in Always Meet Again, he is transported in a game where the adult him becomes a high schooler again to save the other male lead.

Apart from the fact that both dramas are made by the same Director, they have similarities in the characters as well. Directed by Zeng Qing Jie, both dramas have a visually aesthetic cinematography, although I have to admit, Pursuit of Jade leads with its camera works, blocking, lighting, visual effects, symbolism, etc.

In terms if character, both male leads are young Generals while the female leads are independent women who makes money on their own, one butchering pigs, and one doing business. What’s interesting is rhat both female leads can also defend themselves. Chang Yu has amazing martial arts skills, while Dou Zhao can handle bows and arrows.

I’m not saying the two dramas are similar except for the ghost-seeing element, they have very different vibes. I just want people who haven’t watched Revenant to give it a try.

PL is a hilarious drama where the ML suddenly starts seeing ghosts and helps them resolve their problems.
Revenant, on the other hand follows a much darker story about a FL who becomes possessed. Along with a professor and a detective, she tries to uncover the root of the ghost so they can get rid of it. It’s horror done really well.

Both dramas have excellent casting and great production, so if you’re into horror, give Revenanta try.

Both dramas feature an MC who sees ghosts and helps them fulfill their final wishes and move on. They focus on a strong power-couple, balance humor with emotional stories and resolve one case every two episodes.

Both dramas are about a male lead who suddenly starts seeing ghosts and ends up helping them settle their unfinished business before they move on. They’re funny but also meaningful and each ghost’s story usually takes about two episodes to wrap up.

The storyline of Na jeong does have some similarities with Second 20s. After several years dedicated to their kids, trying yo be the perfect wife and mother those two stay at home women decide to get back at it, for one college the other work. For both case the journey isn’t easy.
Similar in ages too those two women have to deal also with a questionable husband.

These two shows had the same scriptwriter and it shows in some repeated plot points (even some scenes are copied with minor adjustments lol) and a lot of the character types and dynamics in Everlasting Longing appear in Fated Hearts as well. The execution in Fated Hearts is vastly superior though, as Everlasting Longing predates it by a couple years (as far as I can tell anyway — Everlasting Longing seems to have finished filming in early 2023 but didn't premiere until early 2025 bc Angelababy's controversy of being rumored to attend a cabaret show; while Fated Hearts filmed in the second half of 2024 and premiered at the end of 2025) and the plot is more cohesive and planned out.

If it weren't for a ton of very striking similarities I would have a very hard time believing that these are from the same scriptwriter tho bc the difference in quality is stark. If you liked Everlasting Longing, I have no doubt you'll like Fated Hearts bc all of Everlasting Longing's best qualities show up in Fated Hearts, while all it's worst qualities are missing. If you liked Fated Hearts, it might be fun to watch Everlasting Longing to see how much the scriptwriter has grown? Both in terms of technique and the actual messaging/themes of the story. But otherwise I'd say it's probably going to be a rough viewing experience.
