During the Joseon Dynasty, a young woman named Hong Chun Ki is a painter – a true rarity in Joseon Korea, where Confucian values dictate that such pursuits are unsuitable for a woman. She was born blind but somehow managed to acquire a sense of vision. And now she has been accepted to the most prestigious art college in the land.
One day, she meets Ha Ram, an astrologer whose fate is the polar opposite of her own: Although he was born sighted, he lost his vision in a childhood accident. Regardless, he is also in possession of an astounding talent that allows him to read the future by tracing the movement of the sky at night despite the fact that he is blind.
The duo is sucked into the machinations of the royal court, particularly those involving two princes, the free-spirited Prince Yang Myung and the cruel, scheming Prince Joo Hyang – a man who longs to become the next Joseon king.

Both dramas have a ruling father who makes his three sons compete against each other over the throne, but then doesn't understand why they are trying to kill each other. In both dramas one of the sons pretends to be dumb and weak to blindside everyone.
It is much shorter but the actors have great chemistry and the music is so cute! i watched it before my school president aired but if you're missing the cuteness, chemistry, and music of msp, i would definitely say watch about youth! it can be finished in one sitting tbh
Both are mini dramas in which the FL is betrayed by the man she loves and in her revenge plot she becomes entangled with another man who assists her.

Both are short length historical dramas in which the FL is an entertainer of some kind (puppeteer vs. street magician). Both involve a mystery.
Both of these BLs are age gap romances centered in the workplace (Cherry Magic between a supervisor and employee, Lovely Writer between an actor and writer). In both of these comedies, one of the MLs are very easily flustered and inexperienced at romance, something that gets expressed very vocally and outwardly in actions that the pursuing ML finds very cute.
Both of these BL dramas center around male leads who love music. One of the MLs is looking to pursue music as a career and is part of a band. His role model is his deceased father who was also a musician, and is supported unconditionally by his loving restaurant-owner mother.
The other lead comes from a very high-performing family and feels pressure to impress others and run for student council president (although the source of that pressure differs between the dramas), and is supported by his #BestWingMan best friend.
The romance also presents as very similar, with one of the male leads having a long standing crush on the other throughout high school, after he was comforted by the other during a low point - a simple moment that the other lead doesnt even remember. He then proceeds to show his affection to him in secret actions. What proceeds is a very fluffy romance plotline.

in my life of kdramas ive only watched a few relatively long ones, these 2 I started thinking they might get boring and then ill drop them but they were both sooo good! if u like one i'd rec to try the other.
both have a very pitiful main lead in the beginning. In ugly alert its the ml and in my golden life its the fl. Both go from rich lives to poor ;-;
Personally, I liked ugly alert better. pls don't get intimidated by the episode count! i cant believe no one told me abt this gem before bc I ended up loving it sm!! if u think u wouldn't wanna watch smth over 100 eps, just trust me and first watch the first 10 eps and then decide if u wanna cont or not (I bet u will)

Same basic story outline!! The only exception so far is in Plot Love, FL took her child with her. And in Mommy’s Counterattack, FL was told her child died at childbirth.
