ML is an ex-con trying to start over. He tries owning a business but the FL’s dad attempts to sabotage him.

FL is the daughter of a powerful and evil businessman who attempts to take down the ML. Her dad constantly tries to tear FL and ML apart.

ML has a close group of friends. FL is soft, fashionable, and very trusting and loyal. She is naïve at first too.

Both are detective dramas, have small connected crimes inside a big dark scheme. Both have slight romance and a tragic ending for the romance. Luoyang's plot is somewhat more braintwisting and enthralling than the other, but the details of the crimes are equally fine.

Both dramas have a woman taking care of a child who is not her own and harassed by the biological mum.

L&P starts in college while FYTWFMB starts in high school, but in both the main leads get off on the wrong foot and start to fall for each other before the male lead is sent to prison because of a betrayal. The leads reconnect afterwards.
