Both are sports dramas. PRIDE focuses more on the star players, HSL seems to focus on the management of the team.
Both involve a fair bit of play (PRIDE on ice hockey, HSL on baseball) - pretty engaging on both dramas' sides.

While Second Chance features relatively known actors and Friend Forever consists mainly of new faces, the production style of both series are very similar, making both simple and easy to watch. Likewise, the characters have to learn similar life lessons from their relationships.

in Both dramas:
**Mystery/romance and even crime dramas
**Very similar MLs (it's main similarity of these dramas). mysterious and very charismatic, dark lonely antihero type ML, whos past is secret/mystery and also trauma for him. He is quite playboy, playing with girls feelings while not feeling himself anything, lying them, not regretting causing pain for girls who love him. He doesn't care much about anything, about material or even not material things, it's very hard to know what happens in his head or heart. It's very hard to make him feel anything, especially love.
**Though he is so closed type guy, from first view some may think he is very flirty and even funny, he is that way with FL too.
**FL is interested, intrigued and attracted by ML, wants to know more about him, support him... he opens up with her more then anyone (but still not so much, especially in "Piece")
**While drama develops, opens secret past of ML, overall his secrets and mysterious personality - is he so dark/guilty or not? is he killer or not?
Overall "Smile has left your eyes" is much (!) better and another level drama, "Piece" has this vibe and good details but isn't executed (or story isn't written enough good) as well... but these similarities is there and ML's really are very similar.
#So after Pieces it will be great to watch this great Kdrama (which has original Japanese version);
#After SHLYE you may enjoy with some similar vibes (but not expect same level drama).

The drama is also based around 4 men and a woman who ends up living with them. The male lead is cold towards the female lead in both dramas. The overall feel of both the dramas is cute and cliche.
although there inital roles are different as the start. they begin to seem the same as they start to investigate the various cases. the chemistry of the male and female lead are also the same.
> There are many crossdressing dramas, but what these two have in common is that the female lead lives as a man since a terrible event that occured in her childhood. She disguises as a man for so long that her identity has been as a man not only to others but maybe also to herself that she really got a man's mannerisms
> A love triangle existing between the girl pretending to be a man, her tutor/teacher, and another beautiful young woman (the difference is that the female lead in Painter of the Wind has feelings for BOTH her teacher and the beautiful woman).
>TRIVIA: Actor Bae Soo Bin is in both dramas and he's very important in both dramas. He's the King in Painter of the Wind who gives a mission to the two leads there while in King's Affection, he's the male lead's father whose allies are the main villains (not so sure if he'll stay a villain 'til the end).
