Both are post war story. The solders suffered so much. Many death. Self blame. Most want to go home. It was hard to go back to war zone. The solders inner struggle, guilt, and pain. Solid and touching stories

Forever memorable musical movie. Involve strong brotherly love, friendly, strong bond during hard time. War is brutal. People find music and dance not just for entertainment but music is their live.

Both movie involved the main character became a monk
They both walk through the land after war.
They mourned for the dead shoulders.
They prayed for their soul. They wonder with minimal.

“Burmese Heart” shows the aftermath of World War II for Japanese soldiers far from home. Before they learn that Japan has surrendered, foraging food is a problem. Mizushima (rank unspecified, played by Yasui Shoji) is a scout who can pass for Burmese and has mastered the Burmese harp. Disguised as a Buddhist monk, Mizushima makes his way to where his company is imprisoned. Along the way, he finds many more corpses. He buries one, but feels that his duty is to return to his own company.
