Both dramas feature the characters lives being torn apart through a traumatic past and multiple killings. The main focus of both this dramas is on two characters, one a detective, and the other who is a psychopath. In both of these dramas, the psychopath and detective have a familial relationship.

While Duel is more suspense thriller, and IRY is more crime solving - what stood out for me was the heartbreaking bro-angst of two characters in both dramas. Without spoiling, you'll realise by the end of both dramas, which characters I might be referring to. If you drop either of the dramas too early, you won't find out :(

Both have a genius male lead who aids the detectives in solving cases by creating psychological profiles.

- Male Leads helping the police
- Female Leads as cops
- Female Leads fathers have died because of a serial killer
- Copycat cases start to happen again
- The killer is someone they know (won't reveal how it's very similar cuz that'd be a spolier)

Contains the similar angst of two brothers separated for many years due to a traumatic event in the past, and eventually reuniting in the present with troubling choices made by one. MB includes a time travel element where the younger brother leaps forward in time and has some telepathic powers, but the focus of the drama is on uncovering the mystery of multiple murders going back to the key event in the past that separated the brothers. Not as psychological as Hello Monster but definitely closer than many of the recommended dramas. I enjoyed MB thoroughly and highly recommend as it presents the emotional drama and the police procedural/detective aspect very well.

They are both crime/investigation and romance dramas involving a serial killer. In hello monster is the ml and his sibling that has some relation with the serial killer and in catch the ghost is the fl and her twin sister.

Even though the tone is very different the themes of both shows are similar plus the cat and mouse game with a serial killer very close to the male lead is the same.

even though I remember you doesn't have supernatural/wuxia kind of genre, i like the feeling of brotherly love of the main male lead to their brother of this both drama.

Both dramas have criminal profilers and detectives as main characters, who spend their days solving cases and looking for serial killers.
There's a bit of romance in Hello Monster as well as in When a Snail Falls in love, but romance isn't really the focus on these stories.

Both dramas have a big amount of a psychological touch to it, giving an example of how the human brain can be influenced by mere wrong doings of someone else.

basically, the same story its just set in different countries. 2 brothers separated when they were young. the older brother has been looking for his brother since then.

Really hard to make a recommendation without spoilers...
Both:
-Have an in-depth mystery
-Focus on the mind/background of the serial murders and their influence
- Are mature and involve some deep thinking
- Touch the problem of being a child raised in an abusive/ 'murderer' family and get a bit in depth with it
- Can give you lifelong lessons if you listen carefully
- Do not use common and cheap drama moves, so its a bit refreshing
- Do not have a lot (to any) romance

(in both dramas)The murder of a family member in their youth causes one of the leads to pursue a career in law enforcement.... they end up working on a case that connects to their own family murder...
