This series was not what I expected. I am absolutely in awe of the series and how everything turned out. I will admit that I almost stopped watching it because it was somewhat slow in the beginning and some of the characters behaviors made me a little bit annoyed but I continued watching and I am so overjoyed that I did. This is one series that you will absolutely see how the characters develop over time. The writers did an amazing job exposing character behavior as well as individual perceptions, reality and opinions. This is absolutely a family drama and you will get drama and so much more. The romance is sweet and you will absolutely fall in love with some of the couples. The acting was great. The atmosphere was perfect and the family dynamic wiaa hilarious. You will enjoy family drama, humor, romance and loyalty while watching the series I recommences Siri to anyone who enjoys a good romantic photo family drama. You will not regret watching this.

Story- Most of the episodes are devoted to making your insides hurt while laughing. The romances are very well written. There are sad events towards the end that will make you cry. There are happy endings though=D

Acting/Cast- Lee Min Jung is my new favorite actress. She played Jungin so perfectly. She knew how to be annoying but cute at the same time. The guy that played Hyunsu was so cute and funny. The supporting cast are brilliant actors! They know how to play funny and also be dramatic/emotional. Can\''\''t say enough good things about them.

Music- Beautiful score. The OST is awesome! I love all the songs they used. Def. going on my ipod=D

Rewatch- Although most would find a 45 ep drama hard to rewatch, this drama was so entertaining Id watch it again.

Overall- This drama is so entertaining and the cast is magnificent. Don\''\''t miss out on this masterpiece of a drama!

Normally I don't write a review when there is already 2 posted, but I had to get across a different view point for you folks. "Smile, you" a heartwarming family drama about the ups and downs of dealing with family. It has a few bits of comedy and drama, but its main attraction is how the whole family is front and center.

I didn't like this drama because it was too long, the story line and the dialogue seemed extremely repetitive, and not to mention some of the characters were annoying. Word around the web was the drama was extended and it shows. I got officially bored with this drama around ep22, and literally skipped a few episodes and could totally pick up on what was happening, as if I didn't miss anything at all. After ep 30 it seems as if they are literally dragging out the ending to milk additional episodes out. The arguments seemed the same over and over again, in real life I think it would work better , on screen the repetitiveness became annoying.

I liked all the actors (except the mothers), all of the actors were totally likeable. I also really loved the first episodes, because the initial premise was different from anything else I had seen. In short I feel as if I have wasted hours of my life- but I'm not really too upset. There was a happy ending (very predictable) and a few cute guys.

Wooaa! I can't believe there's no review yet! This movie is so hilarious and... normal. It's a "normal life" drama. And i love it. It's so funny and sometimes i feel so sorry for them! A must watch! I really liked the story line :D

I actually like this drama despite it's a 45-episode drama.

Story: 9/10 nothing really new, who can find anything orginal in family dramas?

Acting: 10/10 I really like the casting in this. The leads have great chemistry and they are too adorable together. The family chemistry is good too. Some of the best comedic scenes ever are in this drama!

Music: 8/10 not really memorable music, but some songs that play through the song & the ending theme is nice to listen to.

Rewatch value: 8/10 it's 45 eps. so I won't watch the whole thing, but I will watch some of the funniest moments in k-drama history(in my opinion of course)

I think this is really cute and you should watch it if you like the leads, comedy, romance or family dramas, or you just like long dramas, you'll like this drama.

I am currently re-watching this series after 6 years since it aired. I still remember how i much i enjoyed it , so now it's time for me to write a review.

I gave this drama a perfect score because the story was well written, directed, produced, and delivered.
The entire cast did an excellent job portraying their characters and making them so believable. The love story between the main leads and the supporting characters (Jung In's older brother) are really adorable and romantic. Although this series is long, the story flow and it doesn't get boring. The writer did a wonderful job in showing each character's growth and development as the show progress. After watching this series, I liked all characters in this show because they all have a purpose.

I wasn't a fan of Jung Kyung Ho when I watched him in his older series because I didn't find his role captivating. After watching this series, I really liked him as an actor. I think Smile You &and Cruel City are the best series I watched him in. Definitely loved him in Cruel City! :D His character was so different from smile you, but yet you will still love him.

❤❤❤ Classic family drama with a great cast : don't miss this gemm ❤❤❤

Classic family drama with a really great cast. 45 ep. but realistic, well done, subtle, positive. The family of an old driver takes in the family of the ruined CEO. Sweet sweet romance.

I'm not a fan of family dramas, nor series with more than 30 episodes (because there is often a quality drop and lengths in the narration). Also, I hesitated a lot before launching into "Smile, you!".
But I was glued to my screen from the 1st episode!!

Why ?

1/ The actors are great. ALL of them. We become attached to them, we live with them, we suffer and laugh with them. They become our family. That tells you their talent! I could describe the performance of the grandfather, of the FL, of the ML,... But they are all absolutely brilliant in this series!

2/ The story is realistic. There is no cliché (cold and arrogant CEO, FL "gift from heaven" but naive and pure, "white truck of doom", amnesia, etc.). This is a slice of life of an old driver, his family, the people he has taken in. Life is not always easy, money is hard earned.

3/ The psychology of the characters is coherent and finely described. Everyone has their personality, their goals, their fears. There is no abrupt and miraculous reversal of the situation. Everything is believable, in every situation encountered.

4/ The dialogues are well written.

5/ The message is positive, optimistic. I won't talk about the happy ending (which I like a lot), but overall the series encourages us to believe in human nature, to believe in life, to enjoy every moment and the little daily pleasures.

6/ Technically, this drama is PERFECT: no length, sustained rhythm, a great balance of emotions (humor, romance, sadness, anxiety, etc.).

Conclusion: whatever your taste in dramas, if you haven't seen it yet, go for it! You should not miss this masterpiece!

❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤

Unique, insightful, and Inspirational drama.

A fantastical drama that truly deserved an happy ending. What a journey it was both for the characters and the viewers. Like any other families , this one had problems and worries but as time flew by, the problems didn’t disappear but through stronger relationship between the families. They were able to overcome it with ease. There are lot of good lessons in these drama. However, 2 of them stood out: true leaders and discipline. To maintain, develop, and prosper a family is true leadership and discipline. Grandpa had it all while other characters slowly grew to learn these 2 things/other facts. This was only one of those long drama that was really worth our time investment.

Story is over the top. The writers paid much attention to all aspects of family life. Romance is outstanding. Comedy is right on the dot. Drama is exceptional. You'll find all these in this story.

Cast is great too. female lead is really pretty. Male lead is not really good looking at times but there are scenes that you'll really fall in love with him (plus i looked him up on the internet ans e looks much better now!)

Music is moving may it be romance scene, comedy scene or drama scene. It made you feel the emotions enough to be moved by the scenes.

Rewatch value,, uhm its not that I want to watch it again but I want others to watch it as a recommendation (then i'll watch it again with them LOL)

I'm on about episode 34 right now and i love this drama. Though i just have to say Hyun Soo's mother so far is possibly the most annoying, unlikable character i have ever watched in anything. Every time she is on screen i just want to punch my ipad. Apart from that, love it!

this was my first long drama ever

i really enjoyed so much till ep. 24
then i saw it was too long and detailed without no need
when the story should be detailed it doesn't and when it should be fast it doesn't
starting from ep. 40 i watched it on the fast forward button :/

i was interested so much at the side stories for
ji soo & jung joon, i found his character was so cute really but they passed fastly on their story,
which really bothered me much
and same on han se with sun woo the new employee

for a long drama with 45 ep. many things was open at the end which was really provoking
too much time wasted in
begging and persuading the grand father to do the surgery
and too much quarreling between min jung and her mother in law

and about the grandfather sickness and how he continued
this was really Underestimating minds for me and
wasn't logical at all

they could really make this drama superior
if the writer avoided this much useless details

i like they idea and i expected much more depth in the plot
may be that's the main reason i became frustrated :(

Last 2009 I think was the last time I've watched this drama, that time I remember that I was totally hooked by it but then I wasn't able to watch it completely because I had school days and I was only watching it in our local channel dubbed by our local language. So after almost 8 years I'm so glad I've rewatched it and it is totally my topmost favorite korean drama! I love the story which revolves around the 2 families and each of them I must say were all interesting and enjoyable to watch because of their personalities and stories to tell. It is so good to watch a drama about family and second chances that is well mixed with laughters, sad moments and romantic yet comically executed. I like it thay drama shows how each characters change gradually for the better and some of the situations were relatable in reality that is why you get to feel as if your not watching a drama beacuse you feel it. Then there's the main couple whom I totally enjoyed the chemistry, their quarrels, sweet moments were so cute that you found yourself thinking that the thought of dating isn't actually that bad if the person is like kang hyun soo's character.haha. So all in all I will give this drama a super thumbs up! I hope korea will make more dramas with those kind of natural and interesting stories that is very inspirational and enjoyable that is well played by good actors. Thank you kdramas for giving goodvibes throughout the years.
