I honestly i prefer the anime version of anohana but this works too.

The story between these 2 are quite similar from:

-dead friend (main character)
-a friend that could have been more misses said mc
-family and friends that drifted apart after death of mc
-supernatural in a way

Both are heartwarming and tragic at the same time.

Both titles feature a lead character who was a friend, and love interest, to the other lead before suddenly passing away due to an accident. The deceased leads, Koichi (Eternal Yesterday) and Meiko (Anohana), get to spend time more with their love interests, even after death, giving them a chance to better express any feelings they may not have spoken out loud yet. They also get to do things together that they may not have had the chance to do anymore due to the fact that one passed away.
