I started watching this movie as Nana fan and boy did i cry when the story end. This movie is the 2nd movie after Your Name that has an effect to me this year. The first half of the movie describes the happiness that couple share together, featuring the beautiful streets of Kyoto. The storytelling is so good, that when the two see each other for the first time, you feel nervous with them. Then, when they officially start to date, you feel butterflies in your stomach!! In short, it is a love story that makes you blush and fall in love with the characters for me. The second half is when you start having the feeling. Like the title suggest, the lead will meet up with each other significance with the opposite time.

It will also question whether if we know everything in the future already, Will we still do the same? The answer for me is yes because 'happiness is still happiness'. We still remember that moment as 'happiness' because everything changes but happiness is always in the corner of time.

This movie is one of the best bittersweet love story for this new generation and you will most likely cry after the movie end . Japan has really step up their movie industry with so many quality movie released.

Beautiful love story!
The film relies on a careful exchange of romanticism with that of the supernatural elements that, plausibly, promote the growth of its two main characters and their love relationship. It does not fit into the overly tempted notion of the tragic and common loss in novels, especially considering how many other films usually have one of the characters with some deteriorating disease or terminal illness to defend ideas of forced separation. His uniqueness in the narrative structure separates it from similar films that maintains the genre and, along with an excellent cast and direction, produces an emotionally touching, unconventional, and ultimately quite memorable viewing experience.
"Tomorrow I Will Date With Yesterday's You" makes you think more about the situation in which the two main characters were and the consequences that this would mean to them.
By Japanese standards it may have been some movie, but it is not, the story is well written, it has a coherent logic, it seems to be difficult to understand at first, but they have a transition of interest that makes you understand it perfectly. It's worth it!

Not a fairytale with happy ending but not something you should miss...

It's a quite complicated to understand but it's still worth to watch, first thing it does not ending which usually is like they lived happily ever after so if you are looking something like that then it's not the place to find. It's a beautiful love story which makes you smile but also have a big twist that left you shocked.

It was well executed, acting was good it is far better than other movies about time travel but it also left with many unanswered questions so it does have many plot holes. It's definitely a tearjerker that will let you cry until the end and you'll get a unsatisfied ending also, but it still worth to watch because it's like true life we don't get everything as we want.

I'll definitely recommend you if you are not softhearted person, it's a heartwarming and tragic story but it will also give you some pleasant moments!!

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

His future is her past. Seriously, this movie is so sweet, heartwarming and sad at the same time. I really hope that they'll find a way to be with each other forever. My heart really broken when I saw Takatoshi crying on his 28th day and her 2nd day.

Fukushi Sota is so cool in this movie with that hair length and glasses. But I'm kinda disappointed that he doesn't wear that glasses in all the movie. As for Higashide Masahiro ... he's as cool as usual hahaha .... And Komatsu Nana is so beautiful.

The movie cleverly utilised the concept of time to bring something quite unique if I should say but in the end there were some plot holes especially regarding the time concept n also a few other flaws hence tho i enjoyed it i clearly can't rate it as a masterpiece.

STORY 8/10 : Here, the TAKATOSHI is saved by EMI when he is 5 n also EMI is saved by TAKATOSHI when she 5. It might seem confusing but according to the plot EMI'S time travels backwards. According to the plot this enables them to connect with each other every 5 years for 30 days. Clearly if fails to explain the whole origin which I feel is a serious plot hole. Without them saving each other this connection would have never happened n at the same time it is this connection that enabled them to save each other n hence its contradictory.

ACTING/CAST 8.5/10 : Tho I feel some of the emotions of the drama could have been better expressed. However, I felt that both the EMI n TAKATOSHI were well acted. Also some supporting role could have been better but considering the screen time I felt it was acceptable.

MUSIC 7/10: Music was somewhat lacking in many scenes which could have been better portrayed with appropriate music but its wasn't bad either so a gracious 7. N BTW loved the ED the lyrics were well thought.

REWATCH VALUE 7/10: I believe this is a fairly high rewatch value coming from me. I actually enjoyed the overall movie n hence i might consider rewatching it sometime near in the future.

OVERALL 8/10: The movie was pretty decent even the movie effects were fairly good n I enjoyed it despite its flaws. Throughout the series there were some tear jerking scenes but it wasnt enough for me to cry. But hey its a review of my own opinion so I mean no offence to those who actually cried or actually thought it was a lmasterpiece.

This movie kinda resembles "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".
Honestly right at the middle part it got me kinda confused and I was always working on thinking how things work on the setting the two main character is in which is a bummer cause I can't really be there in the moment while the movie progresses. Thank goodness for the last part! That cleared almost if not all the confusing part that I was having trouble with. I guess I'm no good with time twisting dramas *lol*.

All in all this was a great movie. I can tell cause I might've cried a lil tiny bit. *yes*

So give this one a try! Actually give it 2 tries, this kind of movies you understand better the 2nd time around (at least for me that's true)

Mild spoilers for this review (I won't reveal anything, only speak lightly over themes)!

There's something wistfully sad and empty about this movie, and many others of the same genre of love-meets-some-magical-loophole (I'm looking at you, The Beauty Inside and Your Name). Because the tragedy feels so unavoidable, it makes every memory, even the happy ones, feel sorrowful and pitiful. There is also a stillness, a calmness that isn't common in western cinema in all these films which contributes to a sense of reality, if it makes sense. It turns something made out of fiction to a scene resembling a memory, like when you're recalling a passage from a book.

The lack of a huge plot twist in this one makes you almost feel suffocated.... call me a hopeless romantic but there was always a chance for something more to happen, for a solution, a cure and yet, it didn't. That just deepened the emptiness of everything, and made the story much sadder. I was surprisingly not angry at the end, only compassionate and left with a vague feeling of hopelessness.

The one big detail that bothered me was the intensity that is given to a relationship that barely has a week. There's a rushing to built closeness, to have you attached to characters you barely know, barely see, that fails a lot with me (I've seen it in another Japanese works before..). If I wasn't curious and (mildly) patient, I would've dropped this film.

Acting and filming were both on point, everything was far too beautiful! I absolutely adore Nana Komatsu, I feel this pull to watch more of her works (which seem very diverse, from romance to psychological thrillers).

This is honestly a great movie if you don't have high hopes and want something still, calm like river waters.

The movie was such a good watch. I definitely recommend to anyone that wants to watch it.

Story
This story is quite unique. Up to know, I was the first time I have seen to use time in the way it did. Such a play with time comes with the story having some plot holes but they aren't too major or offputting to make you lose interest and for the most part, I think that the writers really thought up the storyline to lower the contradictions.

Acting/Cast
Both leads were really good in their roles. They seemed to have good chemistry and showed the emotional range they needed. A particular scene comes to mind near the end in which Fukushi Sota acting was so touching and felt genuine.

Music.
The music was okay for the most part. Nothing that I will search up and relisten to but it was good during the scenes that they played in.

Rewatch Value.
I think that this is a movie that I want to watch again pretty soon. The way the storyline work with merits a rewatch and the acting was great so I definitely will be back soon.

Tomorrow I'll date yesterday's you had a nice and interesting plot.

The couple had great chemistry, first and foremost. It is actually one of the few movies where I really liked Nana's character. She looked good with Fukushi's character and they helped the love story a lot.

The main plot is not confusing as well. Although it could have been, they presented it so perfectly that it was not even tiring to watch.

The ending, however, was not as good as a happy one.

So, overall, seven and a half out of ten.

Watch this movie!!

I'll admit right up front, this movie confused the heck out of me. I'm math-phobic, and time travel and space-time continuum type things relate to math, and you see my dilemma. But that's just me.

The story was beautiful and sad. I need happy endings, and unless I completely missed what was going on, this did not have a happy ending. I spent the time getting to know and love the characters, and once they knew what was going on, I could almost feel their pain in the knowledge they had gleaned. Japan knows how to do beautiful filming that is kind of "slice of life". Everyday places and everyday stories take on new and deeper meanings, and I love that.

Both actors did a wonderful job with their parts. I've only seen either of them in one other work, so I'm going to need to check out their filmography and expand on that.

Music - was there music? I wasn't paying attention to that.

Rewatch value - I'd say definitely, if for no other reason than trying to figure out the timeline.

the romance was so precious here!

What a beautiful way to tell a story about the precious time that passes between people that are in love.

I can totally understand why some would think the time logic is confusing but after exposition from the FL I pretty much understood it. The acting was good. Fukushi Sota was so cute as Minamiyamai. His performance from the beginning was so endearing and you could really feel his love for Fukuju through the screen and that was amazing. Komatsu Nana was also good tho I liked Fukushi’s acting more. At first I wondered why it seemed like Minamiyamai liked her more than she liked him, even one sided at times. After her secret was revealed her behavior made much more sense and you saw exactly how much Minamiyamai meant to her. That ending was so abrupt bc I really loved every moment the leads were together and wanted to see more of them but I am happy we got to see their timelines collide again as we know they do have a happy ending.

I def recommend this movie if you’re new to Japanese movies/shows and you're a big fan of romance or destiny-trope stuff. I was quite pleased with this and loved the romance aspect here. Am open to watching this again in the future.

a love story that's as confusing as it is charming

This movie made me question not just my sense of time, but possibly reality itself! In "My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday," the only thing linear is the train tracks—It'll leave you with heartache, confusion, and the desperate need for a second viewing!

From the get-go, we're thrown into the world of Takatoshi and Emi, two lovebirds whose romance is more tangled than a plate of spaghetti. Love at first sight? Check. Happy days filled with giggles and sunshine? Check. A plot twist that could give Christopher Nolan a run for his money? Double-check!

The movie's atmosphere is as moody as a teenager's diary, with scenes that will have you pondering life's big questions while wondering if you left the stove on. The title alone screams, "Good luck figuring me out!"

Confused? Welcome to the club! Just when you think you've got the hang of the timeline, BAM! Another curveball that'll have you questioning whether you've accidentally stepped into a black hole. The non-linear storytelling is like a puzzle designed by Einstein on a caffeine high.

I spent half the movie wondering if I accidentally changed the channel, a second viewing might just be the golden ticket to unraveling the confusions. It's like a brain teaser wrapped in a romantic bow—just when you think you've cracked it, another layer unfolds.

"My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday" is a wild ride, a romantic movie that requires a seatbelt and maybe a flowchart. Whether you leave scratching your head or shedding a tear,, one thing's for sure—you won't forget this time-traveling tale anytime soon.
