Quirky short musical with cute guys

Overall: This is one of the few artsy/quirky short films that I actually really enjoyed.

Content Warnings: very mild violence (and you may never eat candy the same way again :P )

What I Liked
- the music, round of applause to whoever wrote the songs and the singing was good
- unique plot, definitely haven't seen this before
- the outfits matched their candy counterparts well
- apparently I really like tattoos, even when it's the word "digestive" lol
- I liked that even in the darker scenes there was light on the actors' faces, too frequently I can't see anything

Room For Improvement
- I didn't at first like the first song the guy wearing black sang, but I think it was a style thing
- the animation when showing people looked a bit amateurish
- a small continuity error with the white band being ripped, but then not being ripped in a wide shot

Weird, but cute!!

I really wasn't sure what to expect, but this wasn't it. However, I'm glad I watched it!

This turned out to be a very cute musical with decent music and a sweet story. The animations were a bit awkward, but everything else worked - for what it was. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different when you just need a break from all the usual "normal" BL stories and tropes, especially since it's so short!

The only thing that took me by surprise, and I probably just did not read the full synopsis, was that it was a musical. So, initially I was rather shocked when the candy was suddenly alive and singing. My first impression was, "Um, this is weird." I kept watching and it quickly grew on me as I got the feel for what they were doing, and by the time it was over I was very happy that I watched it.

Enjoyed it way more than I expected to

I went in being fully aware of what was I going to watch, but it was still hard trying not to laugh the entire time.

The story is pretty simple: two guys are an arranged couple. One of them, Mint, is new in the business and not very popular, so he was matched with Pink in hopes of getting a popularity boost. However, while Pink is very popular when he's alone, he gets ignored when he's with Mint. The two of them end up jobless, which leads Pink to hold a grudge against Mint for this.
Shortly after they meet Black, who lost his job after being involved in an accident.
There, now imagine Mint as a box of melon-flavored biscuits, Pink as a box of chocolate-flavored biscuits, and Black as a box of digestive biscuits. It reminded me a lot of when I was a child and used to assign personalities and habits to certain objects, including food, which is what probably makes this so endearing to me.
I can't lie, at the beginning I thought it was just too silly, but it's actually a silly concept that was taken very seriously, which I really appreciate. The dialogues are especially good and it's even more fun when there are multiple readings for them.
The atmosphere of the story resembles a lot a theatre play, specifically a musical, and I really enjoyed the songs a lot. I expected to be weirded out or bored, but the singers are all amazing and they chose the perfect melodies for different moments of the story.

It's about 20 minutes long and it's worth every second. Go watch it if you haven't yet!

Something different, different

This was... ehem... what was this? It was a bunch of crackers (I thought one of them was a bunch of trash bags) singing they want to be eaten gently, lovingly and what not... I am not going to say this is good but it is definitely something different that I do believe people should watch for the WTF did I just watch effect that it has.

If you look for it you will find a whole lot of symbolism, if you do not look for it you will see what could be understood as both a love triangle and a poly relationship. Very short, very sweet , very different than anything I have ever seen before.
I enjoyed seeing a young Yoon Park. I am not really sure I actually enjoyed this but as I said it is just something different, and that is worth a lot!

Something else entirely. Three young people figuratively representing three types of biscuits, all wrapped up in a short BL musical. I didn't even mind that the sound gradually started to move slightly with the picture and the subtitles. The idea was perfect, I liked the songs a lot, the boys looked a bit clumsy as actors, but anyone who likes musicals knows that singing is always prioritized at the expense of "body play", which is more figurative than real. The creators even messed with my taste. I probably wouldn't buy the watermelon cookie either, but I would not only buy the chocolate one, but "eat" it right away. And at the end, a little tear in the eye... Distracted and eternally dissatisfied people will not like this project.

Naprosto něco jiného. Tři mladíci představující obrazně tři druhy sušenek, a to celé zabalené do krátkého BL muzikálu.

Singing cookies

This is the second weirdest short movie I have ever seen. The first being Satyriasis (look it up: it is extremely bad weird). Something Crunchy Crunchy is weird but in a cooky, quirky, funny way.

It is a story of three packets of biscuits that, being unsold, find themselves thrown into the shop's cellar. These cookies sing their earnest wish to be eaten slowly by someone who'd buy them. The first cookie mocks the third one so the second one abandons him and goes to be with the third. They are eventually taken home by shop's clerk and eaten with gusto.

First of all, this is a full blown musical: the cookies sing about their feelings and aspirations. The music is not bad, just run of the mill ordinary musical numbers.

Second of all: this is also a cookie bl about love triangles (polyamory?).

And finally; there are animated sequences showing the life of those cookies on shop's shelves. Cute and unexpected!

To be frank, I really do not know what to think about this short movie. I guess it must be an allegory on something with cookies representing people being neglected, overseen and yearning for recognition and acceptance.

Or it just could be an ad to make you choose those biscuits?

Or an original way to have a hot bl in Korea 10 years ago?

This short movie is practically an obligatory rewatch if you want to figure out what the author wanted to say.

Anyway, it was an original watch, musical bls are very rare (another one I can think about is Just Friends? made at about same time!). Characters bursting out in song is really not something you see in dramas here...

Fun short musical

Cute, weird, sexy, adorable! Great short musical. Loved the music which are mostly soft duets, written in a sort of Broadway style, only better. Extended metaphors between product packaging and consumption are both funny and erotic focusing on the desire to be wanted, unwrapped and consumed. Maybe a gentle reference to polyamory.

Interesting costume design. Interesting use of hand drawn animation to provide context.

Features actors Choi Jae Min, Yoon Park, Cha Seo Won. Directed by Jang Young-sun.
