Cutest drama ever!
This is one of the cutest dramas I've ever seen. It's filled with such sweet, heartwarming moments and humor. I can't tell you how much I laughed and cried watching this. First, the cast did amazing. I was already familiar with Sun Ning as I've seen him in The King's Avatar. I loved the way he portrayed his role as the funny and dorky Lu Wang. As for the rest of the cast, this was the first time I've seen them act. Wang Zi Wei's role as Lin Jingxiao was awesome. She cares and sticks up for her friends and is not afraid to speak her mind. Gao Zhi Ting's role as the athlete Wu Bosong was another character I loved. He's also funny and caring. Shen Yue's role as Chen Xiaoxi was just the cutest. I think Yue did excellent portraying her character, especially through the time changes when they start with their teens years to adulthood. Hu Yi Tian's role as the popular Jiang Chen was really good as well. I loved both the main lead and second lead couples. I think I may have fallen for Hu Yi Tian, heh.One of the things I loved about this drama was the type of friendship they had. They just had that bond. They all did fun things together and had each other's backs in any situation they were in. Of course, they had their moments where they argued, but they would makeup. The music is so cheerful and bubbly. The theme song for the drama is just so sweet. The pacing of the drama was great as I loved that we got to see the characters grow. I can say that this drama has become my favorite! I definitely recommend it! It's a cute love story, but it is not cringy nor over the top. It's just perfect!

The drama is not that bad. Actually, it is really good. The part which I don't like is that the female lead confesses at the beginning. It's not that girl is not supposed to confess at first but it should not have occurred in the first episode. Also, there should be a little sign that the male lead likes the female lead. I mean it is not shown properly at the beginning. I needed to assume that the male lead likes the female lead because they are male and female lead. The story is really good though. It has the perfect amount of drama and suspense. It is just perfect if you don't like ea plain or a very dramatic drama. Was this review helpful to you?
Can't stop rewatching
What made love this drama is the natural acting of every character. They really portrayed their character that you can even feel their pain, happiness and even the giggles when their crush glance or look at them. Maybe some of you, think that this drama is just an ordinary highschool drama. A puppy love that blossoms into real and strong love. Well, tbh, it is but what makes it different and outstanding is the feeling that brought to the viewers. While watching, it made feel that I want to go back to my highschool life. It made long for those days I spent with my highschool friends. I just love how it was made. It feels like I watched them grow. It is true, love is so beautiful. Even if it is just a puppy love. Those moments that you feel loved and love, you are motivated to grow as a person. That's what make love so beautiful. That's what make love a unique foundation to change and aim for the better. Aside from this, I also love that they use their own voice not like any other cdrama that used dubbing. The cinematography and the natural effects which made it authentic and feels like you are close to them. I just love this show and it's been five years I'm trying to move on and find some drama that will also give me like this feeling. Well, I can recommend river runs through it if u love highschool cdrama. Was this review helpful to you?

CLASSIC FIRST LOVE STORY
A Love So BeautifulShen Yue = Chen Xiao Xi
Hu Yitian = Jiang Chen
The start of this drama was so cute. It was youthful, showing their school moments starting off with the time when Jiang Chen ignored Chen Xiao Xi. He was the grumpy neighbor that doesn’t talk, but scores really well on tests. She was the talkative neighbor who had a crush on Jiang Chen and struggled a little bit in school. It is one of the most classic kind of enemies/friends to lovers.
Episode 1: I love how Jiang Chen was ready to stand up for Chen Xiao Xi no matter if he was acting like he’s always annoyed by her. He catches the comments made in school about her, he was going to help her in the fight, he helped her stand up to the principal reading her own personal love letters, and he was able to connect the dots with the accidental love letter he received. Also, that little snippet at the end where we get his gentle side that morning that Chen Xiao Xi woke up really early to see him. From that point on, he also started to actually wait on her in the mornings, showing his compassion. He is def one of those like characters that appear morally gray, but actually care a lot about Chen Xiao Xi.
Episode 3: Jiang Chen just takes a while to warm up. At the end, he realizes that Xiao Xi is a pretty genuine person when it comes to her actions. Yes, she can be goofy, but she also knows what’s right from what’s wrong. She still owned up to her mistakes with the class money. Also, he says he doesn’t care and she isn’t fit to be the class leader material, but he still tries to help her find the money back. If it wasn’t for him, Chen Xiao Xi would be in way bigger trouble and her family would have to make up the 1000 dollars. And then at the end, with him riding his bike and laughing with her. He’s definitely warming up.
Episode 4: I have no clue why I never noticed how tall Hu Yitian is. He’s like double Shen Yue’s height. He had to fully bend down 90 degrees for her to reach his head. Anyway, like we’ve noticed Jiang Chen just takes a while to warm up. He didn’t help her practice hurdles until he found out she was doing it for him. He was so proud after she ran too. I kind of feel bad for Wu Bosong though. These past couple episodes it’s been so clear he likes Chen Xiao Xi. He’s done so much for her but she only sees him as a friend.
Episode 5: Jiang Chen starting to get jealous of Chen Xiao Xi and Wu Bosong was so funny. Him teasing her with putting the book even higher😭 Holy, he is so much taller.
Episode 6: Aww Wu Bosong suffering so much because of his care for Chen Xiao Xi. He’s the one that got her out of her mood and fought with his dad. He defended her character to his dad. Jiang Chen is confusing me. I don’t like his actions and words spoken towards Chen Xiao Xi. But, he still did defend her against those men and was more worried when he found out her transferring schools was real. Jiang Chen came at just the right time. Him convincing her to stay and whispering that to her shows how much he cared and wants her to stay.
Episode 7: Jiang Chen’s jealous side coming out. Him denying the seat next to Chen Xiao Xi at first until someone else wanted to claim that seat. The classic friend group shouting. I always love that scene with all youth dramas. The way Jiang Chen’s face dropped when Wu Bosong pulled Chen Xiao Xi aside to say that she is his motivation.
Episode 8: Jiang Chen needs to hurry this process up. He’s so wishy-washy with Chen Xiao Xi even though he always ends up caring for and helping her. He just needs to confess bc he already knows that she likes him. Or else it’s gonna be too late and Wu Bosong is going to take her.
Episode 9: With the debate, even though Jiang Chen got jealous every time Wu Bosong is mentioned, he helped Chen Xiao Xi make a good point and not embarrass herself. He also helped her with some key words because he knows what helps her. However, I was touched by Wu Bosong and his reaction, he seemed so proud of her. Also, the fact he played off his love confession to lessen the stress on Chen Xiao Xi showed how much he cares for her. Idk man, right now, Wu Bosong is the better guy and Jiang Chen still needs to step it up a bit in his expression of ideas and his thoughts.
Episode 12: Ah! The infamous scene. Li Wei is really pissing me off bro. Jiang Chen has clearly shown that he isn’t interested in you and you still overstep your boundaries. Not only do you see Chen Xiao Xi crying, but then you go and try to kiss Jiang Chen in front of her? Like thats just messed up. Wu Bosong bro. He does so much for Chen Xiao Xi, he balances swim, pays for a bunch of stuff, and shows up for her when she needs it. Him covering her eyes and turning her away with that angry look on his face…they better stay friends forever and Wu Bosong better find someone for him. He’s really a good guy. I don’t think Jiang Chen is a bad guy either, but he’s more of that morally grey type of character rather than Wu Bosong’s golden retriever energy. Chen Xiao Xi is growing through stuff bro. Her long time crush is fading to her and I feel so bad because she’s still just a girl trying to navigate life. Her first love just got stolen away from her in her own eyes, so I understand the depression she’s feeling.
Episode 14: Finally, Jiang Chen is making a move. He took that “I love you” plant and put it in Chen Xiao Xi’s bag. I still need the verbal confession though. Aw, poor Lu Yang. Everyone was tricking him the entire time by not telling him that Lin Jingxiao liked Li Shu. Not only that, but that whole heart attack scare was really really unexpected. I really liked that scene because of the family and community that it demonstrated though. Li Shu being the person trying to save Lu Yang and all of his friends helping him. No matter what struggles they were going through, they all united in their love and care for Lu Yang. Lu Yang’s public annoucement and confession to Lin Jingxiao was so cute bro. It took guts and I loved how Wu Bosong and Jiang Chen helped him by holding off Director Zhang.
Episode 17/18: What the heck, that kiss from Jiang Chen came out of left field. I mean, it didn’t because we as the audience could see his thoughts. But he hasn’t even verbally confessed yet. And then they suddenly became gf and bf without showing us how that happened. He kind of just assumed and there was not any formal, “I like you” and “I like you too, be my gf?” type of thing. It felt very Jiang Chen and Chen Xiao Xi like. Very lowkey and almost a little bit weird.
Episode 20: I’m a little bit confused about the series of events that happened. Are you telling me that Jiang Chen and Chen Xiao Xi broke up for 3 years because he went abroad to study? Then, when he comes back and they meet at the hospital, her and Wu Bosong are acting like they’re a couple. But then, Jiang Chen brings a fake date to the bachelor party. BUT THEN, that same night, Jiang Chen and Chen Xiao Xi kiss and Chen Xiao Xi is the one apologizing to Jiang Chen. Like, I’m so confused about this timeline and how everything is happening so fast. Are they now dating again? Like what’s going on?
Episode 22: Wow, I think this is the latest confession that I’ve seen, at least verbal confession. We finally got Jiang Chen saying all of his feelings out loud, all 4 min and 23 seconds of it. Wu Bosong bro, he was the one that basically got them back together through having Chen Xiao Xi on the phone while he was talking to Jiang Chen. Wu Bosong is literally the best, I wish he got a love interest of his own.

LOVE
I love how this drama makes you feel. Lol. I looked back to my high school days and relieved the moments when I was like Chen Xiao Xi crushing over the school heartthrob. Plus, Chen Xiao Xi portrayed her character very well. You'd think she's really a teenage girl. I think this is the strength of this drama, it makes the viewers remember those first crushes, first loves that made us all giddy inside. When we thought we will have a happy ever after with them. Even writing this review makes me smile, remembering those happy moments no matter how childish they are. lol
HATE (or dislike maybe? lol)
I hate all the misunderstandings that could have been EASILY resolved if they were more honest with each other or if they just talk it out especially Jiang Chen! You, Jiang Chen! He is the epitome of that smart, but stupid male lead. lol. No matter how cute he is, he is so immature and insecure. He gets jealous of everything when he obviously knows how head over heels Xiao Xi is with him. Sometime, I just wanna smack him in the face to tell him that "the story is pretty simple, why do have to make things complicated!? Can the 2 of you just love, love, love!?" lol
Most people compare this with Love O2O, but I like that one more because that one doesn't have those silly misunderstandings and their relationship is goals--It's balanced and they give and take. If I will compare these 2, A Love So Beautiful is for the immature lovers and Love O2O is for the mature lovers. lol

Pretty good
Overall: This was the first C-drama I watched due to the positive ratings. It has been a while since I watched the show so my memory might not be as fresh. The show is very cute and comfortable to watch, a nice cliche. I did have a few issues with it though. I recommend watching it if you want a light drama.Story:
The story is very typical, not very unique love triangle. There's nothing wrong with it being a cliche either. However, there are certain parts of the show that I feel were underwhelming or underplayed that could have enhanced the overall watching experience. For instance, FL is shown to be a gifted artist at the beginning and during random parts of the show. I think that her being an artist really doesn't have much effect to the plot because they barely showed her doing anything artistic - she only used her artistic skill whenever it was convenient or to make certain plot points work (like with the graduating thing). To fix this, they could have made art a more prominent aspect of her life and show maybe her peers looking down on her because they don't believe art is a viable career, etc. This way, we can feel more of an association between FL and her artistic talents. Another issue I had was that the reason FL started liking ML made little sense to me so I didn't feel much regarding their relation to one another. The characters didn't really develop that much, though, ML did change a noticeable amount as he grew older but honestly I would have preferred if he stayed the same. I didn't really like the way ML behaved as an adult, he changed completely from what we thought we knew about him and became worse (in my opinion). I felt sad for SML a few times because he really sacrificed a lot for FL and didn't really get anywhere with that. There are a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication between FL and ML that could have been easily avoided. I don't mind dragged on misunderstandings but I also don't appreciate a misunderstanding that drags on for a couple of years without the show SHOWing us the implications/side effects it had on the characters. The show instead just did a " _ years later" then gave a half baked explanation of how the characters felt at the time. Also, ML and FL's relationship was kind of mundane and the show didn't really give us a reason to admire their relationship or to think it's cute or ideal or anything like that, it was just "ok they're dating I guess" vibes. There are a lot more things but honestly I don't want to get too into it because these are pretty much just problems I had and you might not mind these things so don't let this deter you too much,
Acting/Cast:
I think everyone's performance was phenomenal but I didn't really know about Hu YiTian because his character is just cold, pokerface which made me a little bored because even his smile looked neutral 😭 (although it probably isn't the actor's fault since he's playing a pokerfaced character).
Music:
The intro song is nice but the rest of the music is just okay, I also forgot about the rest of the music so I can't say much else.
Rewatch Value:
Well I guess it could be fun to see how ML changed but honestly that's it. It's a very simple plot (nothing wrong with that) which isn't worth rewatching since it's a still considerably long show. With shows like these, there really isn't much after it's over because it ended pretty nicely, IMO it's not a completely full and satisfying ending but it's alright.
TLDR;
- Some plotpoints weren't used to their full potential
- Not much character development apart from the leads
- I like you, you'll know it, is a great song
- Certain plots were glanced over
- Poorly executed misunderstandings/easily solvable misunderstandings that for some reason weren't resolved sooner
- Cute show
- Light watch
- I recommend you watch it

My first cdrama and the best one!!
I loved each and every character in this drama though ML acted cold sometimes it’s bearable and he helped FL so many times and FL is a cheerful girl-next-door person she’s not really has clingy personalityYes! I got second lead syndrome at the beginning but ML was soo good in later episodes that SML had to backout But it’s totally worth it because he knows FL can’t love him!!
And other supporting leads yeah! The Secondary Couple are another cutest couple
It’s a lighthearted drama with lots of fluffy moments and great friendship and life lessons

If you want a cute school drama, that's a great one!
I was so excited when I found this drama, so I started it right away! I loved how the female lead was so open about her feelings for male lead, though I would like to see him being a little more open too. To say the truth this was his character, a quiet one, what can we do? I liked their school friends and the fact that we saw them being together in adult life too. Their adventures were so cute! The male lead is so handsome that you may forget how distant he seemed. I liked how he showed more of his feelings towards the end of the drama and I totally adored the second male lead's efforts to win female lead's heart, but the best was his contribution to solve the misunderstandings between main lead couple. All I can say is that the main lead couple's romance is worth watching! Was this review helpful to you?
