If you want a romantic movie this is not it

After reading the plot I thought it was very weird and interesting. Because it is a movie and not a whole drama, I thought I should give it a try. I read the comments, so I was a little prepared.
First of all, it was a little weird and awkward movie indeed. I mean, a stranger comes to your grandma's house and claims to be her student, but he also has a key from the house and you take him in although he is just a stanger to you? Many things could go wrong starting this way. Fortunately, they didn't. He wasn't a pervert or murderer.
Also, right from the start, he stayed in a different part of the house which was good and safer for the female lead, but he was behaving like the man of the house. They ate together the food she cooked, he gave her his laundry and he asked her to do things for him like a husband would do. He also stated many times that he would marry her, without her permission or acceptance. I don't find it very romantic...
Their relationship was nonexistant from the start to almost the end. Emotions were not expressed through words from the start to almost the end. If you have imagination you could guess that some actions in the second half of the movie were because of affection or love or just care. For the most part they were not even talking to each other.
This was such a quiet movie, filled with silence, which didn't help me understand what was happening. If I use my imagination I can understand that this was a quiet love, but I think it was almost mute. They didn't properly show affection to each other. The age gap between them was huge, but I wouldn't mind it so much if I saw the romance between them. It was like he came to the house and became possesive. Suddenly he wants to marry her and the viewer doesn't know how or why.In the end the care or romance between them starts to show a little.
I would say that this movie is about a love story from the past, when love was not expressed very much. It was a very introverted love. I still am not sure about female lead's feelings. I felt that she was just lonely and disappointed from love, but although she waited for male lead to come back at the end, I am not sure if it was because of her love for him or because she was left alone.
I don't think the movie is bad, but I definitely think that I don't like so slow and silent romantic movies that barely have any romantic gestures and by the end of it I am not sure if I saw a romantic movie. I don't like the very romantic, cheesy and unrealistic ones either but this was not even enough.

A hidden gem!

I first put this drama on my watchlist, because of the interesting story but also because of the year that it aired. I really wanted to watch how Japan was portrayed. I watched the clothes they wore, the places they went to, their lives without cell phones with nostalgia. It was a little like a time capsule!
Now, what I really liked at first about the drama was male lead's character. He was a shy, honest and generous person. I also liked the female lead, because she was happy and easygoing. They both were nice people, which is not a given. In addition, there wasn't any malicious character, which I really liked. The story wasn't something new and it unfolded somewhat slowly, so I really encourage you to stick to it. The drama had a realistic approach on life and depicted many common situations in life, for example, the worries the society causes to an unmarried woman over 30, how people waver between choices and the attitude you should have when you want someone who doesn't want you. The characters all acted with dignity.
I really recommend this drama to everyone who wants something calm, realistic and slowpaced!

Worthy of your time!

I couldn't agree more with the other reviews. This movie is not what we would call romantic, but at the end we can feel a blooming romance between the main leads. When I first came across this movie and read the plot I thought that it was very interesting and different from the movies I usually watch. It also reminded me of Audrey Hepburn 's movie "Wait until dark" , although their plots are very different. It was a very quiet and calm movie which starts in medias res, so we find out about the murder little by little. Male lead's (sad ) past unfolds and all our questions get answered till the end. I totally recommend this movie to you!

Amazing movie to watch easily again and again!!!

This is the second movie from Philippines I have ever seen and I loved it too!This movie dealt with some serious issues such as controlling parents and partners and life-threatening sickness but in a brilliant way. It was a simple and cute movie when I chose to watch it, but it was a great one after I finished it.
The movie shows how important it is to live your life for yourself and not the life others want you to live, because you never know when the end will come. Many times people try to protect us by controlling us, but they forget that everyone learns through their mistakes, so it is allowed to make some. We should live life without regrets, so mistakes are in the plan too.
Female lead was confused about which path she should take, but in the end she found her answer. The weird thing is that, while she was trying to get rid of her unwanted marriage, she was planning her real wedding with the help of the unwanted husband. If you think about it, it is weird, but this made her live the experiences other brides would have with their husbands-to-be, that she otherwise wouldn't have, because her husband-to-be was away. These experiences made them come closer and helped her see what her future with this man would seem like. I liked the way she fought for her freedom of choice at the end.
I would totally recommend this movie to everyone. It is appropriate for all ages too.

A very cute romantic movie!

The story is a very classic one to the fans of romantic movies and dramas. These two people make a deal to pretend to be a married couple in order for the man to be able to take the money. Little did he know that he would fall in his own trap! This story showed how one person can change after being abandoned by his loved ones and how he can become better when he has someone supporting and believing in him. It showed how important it is to admit your mistakes and take responsibility for them. Also, the movie showed couples who talk about marriage and their secrets for longlasting relationships. The main idea is that you have to commit to it and chose to love every single day -what a great conclusion!
The actors do a very good job and the main couple has great chemistry together, although there are some points where they overreact or shout. The only thing that bothered me is that they spoke two languages interchangeably through the whole movie. I would watch it again, although I usually don't do it.
All in all I do think that this movie is worth watching! It's not something that you see for the first time, but a good old classic I would say.

You should give it a try!

I loved the two main characters!Female lead was brave,funny, cute and thoughtful. She was not only a loving wife but also a soldier! I loved how she fell in love with her husband and did the best she could for him as a devoted wife from home, but also from the battlefield. Male lead was obviously very handsome and cold at first. He was suspicious of his wife but little by little fell in love with her. He became such a considerate and loving husband! I loved watching his cute face smiling at his wife!!!I adored the other supporting characters too. I liked that we didn't have a villain, a perfect second male lead or a lot of tragic events. Bad things happened but they were not too much. To be honest I binge watched the first half episodes and then lost my interest. I loved their romance but at some point there wasn't so much of it. A lot of things got in the way and the main focus shifted to other things, so we lost a big part of it. I'm glad that I finally finished it! I was satisfied by the ending. If you want a historical romantic story with a little action and a little mystery , you should watch it!

I would recommend it!

This is not a typical romantic comedy movie, but it's something we all have seen again. I would say that it was interesting to watch and I liked it. It is a movie about two people whose exes get married together and they meet at their wedding. They get drunk and sleep together and this way they start a deal. The thing is that they get to know each other before the deal so their sleeping together deal seemed more like starting a relationship. Their chemistry was obvious and they had feelings too. After the end of their deal, they have to face the reality, which is not an easy thing to do when you fight with your self esteem. In the end, I was happy that I gave this movie a chance. So, I totally recommend this movie!

A very classic romantic comedy type of movie

I totally adored this movie! First, we have a very clingy and loving type of bride who is abandoned on her wedding. She is so miserable and becomes viral while trying to find and talk to her groom. Her groom's father wants for his reasons to make her believe that the groom will come back and be together with her when the things calm down so he hires male lead to fool her. Male lead's job is to basically lie to her but while he does that he gets to know female lead and falls in love with her adorable character. Female lead teaches him a lifechanging lesson; how important honesty is.
I don't want to say more. If you like classic, warm and cozy love stories then you should watch this movie!!! You won't regret it!

Great movie!

I liked this movie very much! I totally recommend it!
First of all, I liked the two main actors and the way they portrayed the main characters . In my opinion the movie not only showed how our choices shape our future in terms of relationships (who you sleep or not sleep with) like other people said, but it also showed that imperfections in our relationships are okay. I thought that female lead was right when she tried to end things with male lead because of the unexpected situation. That was the right thing to do, although she didn't want to. What I didn't expect was that male lead wouldn't care about it and that he would still want to be with her. It was such a pleasant surprise! Female lead's roommate gave a chance to an imperfect man (according to her) and their relationship bloomed too. These are two examples that show how imperfections are part of life !

A light movie!

I did like this movie! I agree with the other reviews. It isn't something great but it's not boring either.
I think this as a light movie because it isn't exactly romance or comedy but it has a little from both. Just a little . The movie gave me a look to the past, which I appreciate very much.
The main couple had never kissed and although male lead seemed experienced, in fact he was serious about relationships and kissing, just like female lead and that's the reason why both of them had never done this. Female lead's practice on kissing was a little cringey and awkward. I loved how male lead showed interest in female lead right from the start. I loved how serious his feelings were. His joke to her was a little too much for her being a self-conscious person. I am not sure if I liked his advice for her appearance. It showed interest but it made her more self- conscious. Female lead's feelings were not shown much. She sure was interested in him halfway. Male lead's feelings were more shown. I liked him so much, the way he was excited when he thought that she felt the same, the way he was disappointed when he thought that she didn't and tried to hide it, the sadness when he thought that he missed his chance and he wouldn't see her again...
Overall, if you want a light and innocent romantic movie, watch it!!!

The cutest japanese drama I have ever seen!

I could not skip writing a review for this one! I saw a video about this drama on Youtube by chance and I started with the first episode immediately! I did not regret it!
I loved the main couple!!! I liked the fact that they were attracted to each other right from the start of their contract marriage. Female lead was so so pretty, cute and funny. I LOVED how she tried to seduce her husband!!! What can I say about male lead??!!! Apart from the fact that he is super handsome, his character was very funny and adorable but my favourite part was his behavior when he was alone with his wife. She remained cute at all times but he was a little like a different person when he showed his attraction to his wife. I think that he was seduced at first but he was the seducing one up to the end. I also loved his protective and jealous behavior. What a lucky girl!
This drama didn't have major misunderstandings, fights or second leads. It was pure newlyweds romance! This is the reason why I don't think that dramas should have big ups and downs to be interesting. I liked this so much all the way! I was never bored! Although I don't watch things twice, I would watch this one! Pure pleasure for romantic hearts!

I liked this fresh drama!

If you can get to the second episode, you will not regret it! I almost didn't, but I am happy that I gave it a second chance! It showed how life and wrong people encounters can affect people's mental health. I loved how these two people got to know each other through their weaknesses. They didn't hide their illnesses and they connected because of them. I liked that they seemed cold and indifferent but they were just distanced from people because they were hurt. They made progress little by little. They tried their best to be better. They wanted to be in each other's life but they didn't get in the way. I loved how the neighbours cared about them when they opened up. The male lead was ready to help all the time and was so emotional. The female lead took the first step towards him, although she was mentally scarred by a man. I liked that in this drama they kept fighting to get over their illnesses till the end. I would recommend this drama for sure!

If you want a very funny and cute drama with a little mystery, this is it!

This is the first kdrama that comes to my mind when i want to recommend one to an absolute beginner in kdramas. The love story is very cute! I loved the male lead for his funny and loving character! Female lead was so adorable and strong! I loved their relationship from the beginning to the end, the process from friendship to romance . The only thing that I didn't like was the shady parts with the criminal, but I guess that they were necessary for the plot. I liked so much the supporting characters too! They were hilarious at times. If I were to watch it again, I would do this, although I don't watch dramas or movies twice, but I would skip all the criminal parts. If you want a cute love story with a lot of comedy, you should totally watch this!

I liked this drama a lot.
I loved the main character and I think that he had so many lessons to give; you should not give up on your goals, don't forget your values though it might be tempting at times, you may have a lot of things to learn from your enemies, accept, trust and support the people around you, don't think people are your enemies just because they do something that seems to be against you, because they have their own goals and that sometimes there are situations where you should forget about what you think is right or fair, just because you value a person more than that. His character and presence was indeed shining.
I would describe this drama as a story about ethics and life values. It also touched on so many issues in the society in a very fresh way, setting an example. I will always recommend this. It doesn't have a lot of romance, so it is appropriate for all ages. You should give it a try!
