Japanese detective dramas never fail to amaze me for the fascinating plot points, the great cinematic effects, great cameos (the villians) every episode and the wonderful acting put up by the actors. The first installment of Zettai Reido did not leave much of an impression on me, but when season 2 came out, I decided to give it a try. I am really glad I watched this as it was simply fantastic. The story was brilliant, if not for certain reused plot points in japanese detective dramas. Acting was totally great, Ueto Aya really pulls off the slow and childlike Sakuragi, who matures into a woman worthy of heading the Incident Response Team. Supporting characters impressed me greatly too, but expected that as they are veteran actors. Not too sure about music, but I like the OP! It would be rather dumb to rewatch detective dramas as you would know who is the villian, so I gave it a 6. Overall, this was an exceptional drama, and I expect more detective dramas from Japan of this calibre in the future.

I watched zettai reido twice. Once withough subs and once with subs. Honestly I find this to be one of my favorite mystery dramas. The story of this revolves around the death of one of their colleagues who was shot by a "fearful" woman who we later on find out more about. There is some kind of freshness to the plot and it involves the way humans think and what some people are "pushed" to do when they get the means to obtain something that they want be it money revenge i don't know what else.
although the main role was that of izumi's and in the beginning she was clueless about infiltrations and secret investigations, with the help of someone she matured. there were many different premises to the show which involved back stories and secret plots going on behind the scenes. it's not just one case on each episode it's many cases which all link to one person.
the acting, was like always outstanding. small expressions, bigger expressions, style, the small habits each person had and the way they spoke. izumi was able to mature as a role from the beginning until the end and in every episode there was progress. it's really rare to find logical character development in dramas and most of the time the actors can't pull it off. here ti was pulled off greatly. with outstanding guests stars too i could not give the acting less than a 10 it would be unfair.
the music was adding to the climax of every episode and to the scenes it was not distracting you from the show and what was going on so i gave it a ten for that reason. i would certainly think that rewatching this after a year would most likely make you able to notice things you weren't able to notice the first time. overall i give this a ten. it's a great watch for those who like mysteries and detective dramas. it's definitely something a mature viewer would appreciate.

First of all, you have to watch the SP before watching this one. I almost didn't and I would've been so confused since the case in the SP has a big part in this season.

The story in this one is different from the first, whereas in the first season it's about cold cases and this season is about live cases and the art of going undercover as a part of the investigation.

At first I was really afraid that the big difference of the cases itself would ruin this season but fortunetly it didn't. Though what I thought was a little sad about this change is that you don't really focus on the feelings of the victims and the people around them that we saw in the first season.
Instead it did turn out a bit more about the cases itself. Also unlike the first season, pretty much all of the cases in this season has a connection to each other even if it doesn't appears to be at first. Once again we see Sakuragi evolve smoothly from an amateur in the art of being undercover to being a profesional.

The acting was great, as was the first season but the stiffnes I felt with some of the guest characters had in the first season was all gone in this one, which is a plus. If it's beacuse of the actors or if the scrips was better I don't know, but that doesn't really matter.
The new characters was introduced well and they quickly felt part of the group that we loved in the first season.

The music was nice, it fit well with scenes but I couldn't find one that really stood out for me.

As for rewatch value it always goes down after you've watch it the first time, but you could certaintly watch this again without feeling bored.

I'm writing this review late mostly because of my mixed up feelings for the second season of a series that I really enjoy watching!

The story line for the second season has changed from investigating the old, closed cases to investigating "live" cases, and that doesn't bother me so much as I really do enjoy watching just about any police/detective drama. However, I think why I'm so mixed up about the change is because it was such a sudden and immediate change from the ending of the special. Sure there were some loose ends and some were tied up and some weren't, in my own opinion, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this second season!

I hope more people will give this series a chance! It might be a little confusing if you don't watch the special between seasons one and two, so check that story out first! I haven't been disappointed with this story at all; no matter what change(s) are made!
