I am fan of historical costume dramas but have heard lot about this so thought to give it a try.
and I found it quite interesting except a few point. First, let me tell you what I didn't like. Yangzi character and her acting, she is supposed to be brilliant in university but she behaves like a ten yr old, talks like that behaves like that. She can act cute and nice but I don't think she can do any complex role. yes, she can cry but NOT ANY COMPLEX EMOTIONAL role. She needs to change her stylist she dresses up all the time like 14 yr old at home. her roommate Ya ya had better dress, apple dog had better dresses than the main lead. He character is obsessed and stalker and instead of getting mad with her and report to police the male lead falls in love with her that was quite No NO. she has no passion in a romantic scene. there is no chemistry except jumping on him she cant portray anything else. when his BF whom she has been stalking and its she who has been asking him to go and get married but when he proposed she plays dumb, ( nineteen yr hmm)
Sorry I don't see any serious acting here
Long long flashbacks were quite boring they could have made just one flashback and finish off. Needed some editing here and there.
Now let's talk about good points there are many good things to enjoy this drama , cast is so perfect from main lead to the whole boy team all actors except that first manager of KK team all were suitable. You just fall in love with the boys and young KK team.
Li Xian is a v good actor he has portrayed his role v well from angry stubborn leader to caring boss and lover. His expression when Tong Nian's( Yang zi) mother tell him to stay away from his daughter, his interaction with all the boys of his team, the way when he cried in the tub with his friend Solo is the best scene. In fact, this drama is not a love story its about team, hard work and friendship. good to show to motivate people.
There are many cute moments and kissing scene here and there( with no passion mind you) oops M I too harsh.
I gave it 7.7 and 8 for the good story and acting of all the actors
and yes set sp KK office was nice, good interiors and colour.

Are you looking for a light but fun drama? This may be a good choice for you.

Story: This drama will not be winning any awards for great storytelling but it is filled with great characters that are very endearing. The romance is cute but I think my favorite part of this drama was seeing the friendships and interactions. Although some of the character motivations do not make any sense.

Cast: Li Xian is what made this drama. His expressions and reactions were golden. It was fun seeing his character change and develop. In the beginning, Yang Zi's character was kind of annoying to me but over time I grew to enjoy her bubbly character as well.

So overall, I recommend this one as a light fun watch. Nothing groundbreaking but there's a lot of fun to be had.

It's been a while since I've seen a drama that hooked me from episode 1 until the end (I literally can't stop). I tried to drag it as much as possible because I don't want it to end but I don't have a choice. Despite me being head-over-heels to this, I'll try to write an unbiased review.

First of all the story. It tackles romance, frienship, family and dreams. It may not be as romantic as other dramas, but you'll surely squeal at every episode once you get involved. The friendship is really tight here, and I'm a sucker for that. It was nice to see the understanding and acceptances. The conflicts were realistic; especially if you are from an asian family. But trust me on this, it was kind of unrealistic because a relationship with 10 year gap wouldn't look that great (maybe because there were only a year gap between the leads and the chemistry is the BOMB) and the acceptance of a 20 year old girl asian family is not that easy especially if the guy is 30 years old. The drama was slow paced (not that I mind of) yet their relationship was quite fast paced. Nevertheless who cares about that right? We're not watching documentary. Let's be fun at the parties. Last thing is it circulates more on Han Shang Yan, his life struggles; his dream. That was one hell of a story, gave me identity crisis for being dreamless.

Next thing characters. I loved every character! I can't really call it a character development for Han Shang Yan because obviously he is really a cotton candy just with a hard surface starting from the beginning. Tong Nian just made him softer. And did I mention Li Xian? Girl, that dude, hands down. I love his character as well as his cute smile & eye smile. He won me as Han Shang Yan and Li Xian both at the same time. As for Tong Nian, the actress really portrayed it flawlessly. It just took me awhile to appreciate her beauty because of the style department (I actually just noticed how beautiful she was when I was watching her interviews). Sun Yaya dresses way better. And speaking of Sun Yaya, she and Xiao Mi is a scene stealer! Wish they had more scenes. Team K&K, Team SP and the Team SOLO squad I loved them all! It was nice to see the friendly competion they shared.

Music was really good! The opening song (Nameless Person) is so damn fitting whether it be a happy scene, sad scene or game scene. It was so heartwarming, adds more to the emotions the characters are giving. The closing song (Milk Bread by our very own Tong Nian) is also nice. Makes me feel fluffy and in love. Did I mention Li Xian also has a recorded soundtrack? Though it wasn't played regularly. All in all the OSTs are fitting and nice.

I can't stress how I've fallen deeply in love to this drama! I'm so invested to it that it was the first time I actually know a lot of the character names. Most of the time I only remember the leads names when watching cdramas. Wow, I'm actually really impressed at the dramas China is releasing. They really are stepping up the game. Though I have noticed few flaws like the sudden stop (very disturbing) every after episodes without no transition (idk if it's intentional), the use of green screen and the non-matching dub (rare). Nevertheless it was really created well, love how aesthetically pleasing the K&K club is. I would love to visit that set one day!

Would definitely rewatch everything! Best one I've seen out of all the cdramas I've watched. It was even better than most of the kdramas I remember. Definitely belong to my top 5.

I hope this helps. Surely recommended ♡

Would I recommend that you watch this show? Absolutely. This show is full of both innocence and being naive all in one. You can tell the writer wanted it to kind of have a melo theme along with the romance and gaming but in reality, it did not have it at all; more like nostalgia in certain moments which is absolutely okay. It starts off with Han Shang Yan who is a god at gaming and running a club for other kids to be as successful which is awesome since e-sports is growing and I adore gaming in general so that was a good theme, but did he seem like a jackass? Yes. Is he? Not in my opinion; sometimes he can be a little aggravating but if you think about it; he's kind of like a little puppy that's been surrounded by the same stuff and theme's for 30 years of his life and he hasn't had anything different. Then pops in Tong Nian, who is much younger, naive and she's never had a boyfriend or been in love and all in all; she's a genius. She's in her second year of college at the age of 19 and what basically brings the 2 together is absolutely fate. They're integrated by so many things and yes they do have trials and tribulations but nothing too serious; except for the troubles they decide to give themselves basically. It's all a self battle that both characters go through and overall, Li Xian and Yang Zi did a wonderful job at their parts and I adored them together; chemistry was fantastic and even though it was frustrating because you're like "omg stop acting like that" or "stop doing that" overall; I could pass through it because they really were cute and a relationship was a learning experience for both. I adored the family; the grandpa and etc. I loved the cousin. I adored the team and the friendships everyone had and I like the competitive part of the show. Was it slow for me at any point? Nope. Did it get frustrating a lot? Heck yeah. But is it worth going back to watch? You bet. Also the OST was good; complete fire; worth the download. Overall; the hype of this show was satisfying. I waited and anticipated and loved the outcome.

really the best drama if you want something cute and lovely. The chemistry between the ML and FL is really great, even if you watch the BTS, their relationship is really great (p/s: Yang Zi and Li Xian is schoolmate irl btw) that I started to ship these two. Yang Zi is really cutee and Li Xian is really handsome. I dont really know how to write a drama review but overall, i really love this drama and the KK boys is so funny,,it has been weeks and i cant move on yet.

I love light, fun and feel-good dramas and this is one of them! The story was well written, realistic and refreshing. No evil characters and crazy plots. This drama is about how two people fell in love despite their differences. It tackles tradition, family, friendships, forgiveness, and achieving ones dreams. Li Xian and Yang Zi plus the rest of the cast did an amazing job. Cinematography was nice and crisp. Great OST. I have re-watched twice and appreciate the story even more, in fact I have increased my previous rating. I really wanted to give this drama a perfect 10 but took half point because of the flashbacks (my solution-just fast forward through them) and some minor stuff. Highly recommended!

I liked this show from the first episode, becos of Yang Zi. Yang Zi is one of my fave Chinese actress that’s why I started this show. She’s superb in this show. Usually I hate girly cute sweet characters but I love her here. She’s not irritating, she extremely funny and cute and lovable. Her acting is awesome. All the little details she shows for this role of Tong Nian is excellent. Li Xian is totally new to me. I don’t know this actor till this show. At first I was complaining to my sis that he has only one face, his expression is forever just that narrowed eyebrows. And he’s so emo so angsts so whiny, forever thinking abt the past. All those flashback scenes made me so bored. Thank god the drama picked up once Han Shang Yan and Tong Nian started dating. From then on it starts to become such a joy to watch them. They are soooo cute together. Super love the scenes of drunk Tong Nian omg she’s hilarious. The chemistry between the leads are great. The KK team boys are also entertaining to watch. Overall this is a feel good entertaining light hearted and sweet love drama to watch. Girls will definitely love it. Guys? Maybe watch with your gfs and LEARN how to be a better bf. hahahaha!!!

A drama which can ACTIVATE ur emotions!! HIGHLY RECOMMEMNDED!!!

i have watched a lot of dramas ... a lot of dramas have good stories , good acting , good osts and production...
but there are fewer dramas which can ACTIVATE ur inner emotions , like for me its very rare to find such a drama which makes me happy , a drama which can make me cry, a drama in which i am smiling , laughing and crying like crazy...
In this drama i didnt cry much at emotional scenes , dont know why but really while watching the whole drama i was smiling like crazy... i am personally a very big fan of Yang zi ..as ofcourse after watching Ashes of love who can forget her
but its my first time watching Li xian and as expected he didnt disappoint me... and the all other actors were also amazing..
I am personally very satisfied with the acting of all the actors and ofcourse the osts of this drama were so PLEASANT ..
In short, i really loved this drama alot ... u can say one of the best ... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..!!!

I NEVER thought it would be possible to binge watch 41 episodes of a romance chinese drama.
Go Go Squid proved me wrong.

The storyline is interesting because of the CTF competiton aspect which is an original base, and even if the "lets fight for our dream" was a little over dramatic in my opinion, the character development was amazingly subtle and human.
Its not only a romance between bright girl - cold guy, its portrayed like a relationation in which two people learn to really love each other.
And i was SO GLAD that the female lead wasn't stupid and embarassing for ONCE !
Yes she is young, bright and pink but she doesnt embarass herself only for the male lead to find it cute during 40 episodes .
She still has her composure and maturity.

The acting was overall very good, not as dramatic or awkward as some of the previous chinese dramas i've seen so its easy to get into the story.

The side characters are very funny, and even if the whole bromance aspect was a little overdone in my opinion, their story is still very interesting.
I laughed SO HARD at all the ridiculous situations in the club with the kids and also the interactions with team solo.

Anyway worth watching for sure !

I don’t think I’ve ever paused so many times while watching a drama before just to cry tears of joy, sadness, relief, excitement and the occasional second hand embarrassment.

The amount of chemistry between HSY and TN is irrevocably beautiful to the point you’d expect them to be married in real life.

The story explores the past and future of professional e-sport players (ctf) Team Solo and their new teams SP and KK. How they navigate through life and their careers with the pain they’ve felt in the past and how they eventually learn to overcome it. Don’t get me started with the beautiful character development this drama created especially with HSY. with every episode you could see his cold heart slowly warm up to the people around him especially TN. Though I would’ve liked to see a lot more of of Wu bai and hoped he’d be more than a supporting cast the drama was still absolutely beautiful and I wouldn’t have it any other way
