Both stories involve only 2 lovers; meaning there isn't a love triangle or polygon. You know throughout the drama that they only love each other and nobody else. If you like pure love stories like Tatta Hitotsu no Koi then Nagareboshi is just the thing for you.

Takenouchi plays an aquarium employee named Kengo, who seems ordinary at first glance but actually possesses a secret that he would sacrifice everything in order to protect. Meanwhile, Ueto plays Risa, a young woman working in the sex trade in order to pay off her brother's debt, though her situation has led her to contemplate suicide. These two characters, both full of despair, meet each other and end up entering a contract marriage purely for its benefits. However, as they overcome various troubles, their relationship begins turning into true love.

- deep bond between older Male Lead and young Female Lead where there is this unexplainable connection and understanding between them despite hardly ever saying words to each other
- nice Male Lead
- poor Female Lead who is independent and relies on herself
- overall sad vibe, will make you tear up

Similar underlying concept. Both based on the development of a relationship from a contract -Boku to Star bodyguard contract & Nagareboshi marriage contract. The latter deals with more serious themes but if you enjoyed one you'll most likely enjoy the other

In Nagareboshi, the male lead marries the female lead so that she will be a donor for his sister while in Platonic, the female lead marries the male lead so that he will be a donor for her daughter.

Everything else is quite different since Platonic takes a darker tone while Nagareboshi is lighter in comparison.

- similar amounts of angst and melodrama
- same type of slow burn romance with age gap
- two leads who are really good human beings in their own ways
- both have terminal illness plot line where requires someone sacrifices and gives their organ to save someone else's life
