Magic, Pain, Dreams and a Love-Story that unfolds in the exotic city of Barcelona where the main-leads Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo once again shows us what true love is and how to pick yourself up again and fight whenever you think you have failed. Through the characters of Ely and Mia it is easy for us youngsters to relate to the personal character developement they go through. Ely thinks he is unworthy of love, the hardships he go thorugh mentally is so much more than the heartbreak of losing his fiance...but it is also about the emotional trauma of being abandoned by his mother in such a early stage of his life as a child. In Mia he meets a kindred spirit. She was the one to push him forward and to face his fears...finally moving on and and eventually find the courage to love. Mia has such spirit, who also could crumble whenever she thought of her past and the reason why she came to Barcelona in the first place. She also learn how to be hardworking , responsible and brave throughout the harsh conditions life have given her-but ah what a lost cause she would have been if it weren`t for Ely,who always helped her pick herself up again. There are so many beautiful moments in this film, one very memorable moment is when Mia dances for Ely and he films her while being captivated by her moves and beauty...she eventually come into his arms and he can`t help but kiss her ! Ah,i just love romance !!!

Can give a try

Chemistry between couple is good but story didn't have much connectivity.
Not a single second felt that he was too much depressed or felt very bad or felt guilt of losing his love though he was sad but when entry of lead actress shown whose face resembled to his girlfriend ,he too shocked too saw her but he easily fall for her ,he started liking her not because she resembled to his first love .he loved her but when he said to her that he loved her so she told him that I would accept you when you love me because you love me not because I looked her ,she felt that he was confused but not a single moment had been shown that he was confused .
Anyways apart from this it was a sweet love story.

Sub-mediocre plot, almost ESH (except maybe the FL)

I feel the need to write this because the only reviews I read about this are all above 8, and I am sorry, but this was subpar for me. Sure, it can be argued I am not necessarily a fan of Filipino rom-coms (not there is any "com-" in this, except maybe the outtakes at the end), but there are so many mansplaining scenes, the FL has her boundaries broken so many times, told to not cry, and she still falls for the guy? I'm sorry, the only realistic thing about this is how when you're an immigrant, you go for low level jobs, despite the qualifications you have in your home country.

The ML is very unlikable, very self righteous and it was very hard for me to empathize with his story, or understand the FL's infatuation with him after the first part of them being acquainted with each other (the summary puts it as "they struggle at first"). If anything, I liked her story arch and how, despite mistakes and fumbles, she managed to not just get to a better place herself and forge her own path, but also teach him a few lessons along the way.

For those who, like me, hope they can watch this to get a feel for Barcelona and some of its architecture, just pass this - the ratio is way too overwhelming on the side of the plot where I'm supposed to feel sympathy for the male lead and all I can do is white knuckle my way out of this.
Zero chances I might watch this again. If you want a much better love story, with a much better ending (and not skipping on the crying from the female lead or some traces of humour), go for Starting Over Again (2014).

Lesson in Life

This movie gives you several values in life. Forgiveness, loving yourself, although when someone loves you they will guide you to be a better you. Love will wait, and dependency and codependency, enablers, and more. Of course Katherine s acting always makes me cry, it doesn't matter to me who she's team up with, since she clears my eyes every time she cries. Supporting casts all act well, nobody tried to steal the spotlight that it all looked real

This is a Beautiful love story,

Barcelona: a very public love with a whole lot of P's

"Is I know Ill never love this way again... " as the leading OST for a movie about a guy who falls in love with a girl two years after his girl fiend died... is either extremely mismatched or a way to keep the audience on their toes...

That said, this is the.movie about a person who has to deal with a whole lot of pain, pressure and penitence who meets a princess in a bit of pickle... Betrayed and soles , precarious (desperate but that word does not start wit a p so this is close enough) in Barcelona. Which marks the start of pretty much any love story, no wait there is just this tiny little detail... the princess looks just like the persons partner who passed a way... and is supposed to be very much dead. Making this otherwise pretty basic plot jut a little bit more puzzling... The person is also kind of dependent of the parents of his parted partner and has a whole pile of problems with his own parents...

Ok enough with me trying to fit in a bunch of ps... basically Dude is living a life set up by his dead girlfriend and is juggling his pride with studies 3 jobs and a dad who keeps digging whole for him. Meets runaway girl who has f** up and just needs a second (or 10th) chance. They help each other out with their issues and well things get complicated, love and lust blooms and things get even more complicated.

All is done really well in a beautiful setting, a whole lot of emotions and a plot that besides the whole look a lie thing actually seems constant and makes sense... Ok the OST does not make and there are some solutions that are a bit out there but for a rom com it kind of works. The chemistry between the leads is well known to be good and does not disappoint at all, there are some good fights, good conversations and whole lot of gooey eyes.

Kathryn Bernardo does a great job playing two roles as well as showing character development. and the story while full of cheese and cliches also has a whole bunch of I would not say unique, but creative twists and turns so I would say they tackle the issue of pressure, perseverance, second chances and moving on pretty well. So basically if you enjoy rom coms and the Bernardo- Padilia duo this is defiantly a movie you will not want to miss. If you are new to the duo, this is not a bad place to start.
